first visit to Dublin and thought the location was good, friendly staff. The room was very impressive and the BED was amazingly comfortable.Had a good stay, but as check out time was so early and my flight didnt leave until 3pm, I asked the reception if I could leave my hand luggage weighing less than 5kg in the Hotel while I walked around, only to be told that I would be charged 3 Euros, thought that was a bit cheeky as I travel quite a bit and every Hotel would be more than happy to accomodate such a request....a little moan, maybe the hotel can look into that so as to make sure that the last memory of the hotel is a good one. many thanks.Sharmila Rodrigues
Really nice hotel, comfortable and very friendly helpful staff. The rooms are a bit noisy though so you need airplugs if you want a good sleep.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Hotel fine for a short break
the bedroom [especially the "superior" bed] were excellent.but the bathroom needs attention. It was clean, but the cracked basin, and missing floor grouting lowered the standard. Also, some people like to relax in a bath, yet the bath products, were fixed at the shower height..
My husband and I stayed for the 3 nights and what impressed me most was the " Can do "attitude of the staff the hotel was clean and the food goodWe will go back soon we hope
Hotel fine - Personally I think the reception should be downstairs not in a dark area upstairs.Again personally I would change the grey net curtains to white or cream onesStaff polite and friendlyNot comfortable with the car parking arrangements - you have to leave the keys so they can juggle the cars about
the vibrations of the trains overhead were a bit strange!
Hotel is close to bus station and railway station so easy to visit other places of interest outside of the city. Our room was lovely although it overlooked the railway line but the noise from the passing trains was not a problem. they dont run through the night. Staff were professional and very helpful, pleasant and friendly. During our stay we used McCoys bar for drinks and bar meals and also the hotel restaurant which was excellent. The breakfast made. a great start to our days. Can find nothing to complain about and will return
We chose this hotel on account of its location, really close to all transport links and great for getting to and from the airport. We got a really good deal through this website. The rooms were pretty much what we expected for the money we had paid, my friend had great room, premium, but paid a good deal more than we did. planning to go back again later in the year. one of our group had a problem with something in the room and maintenance sorted it really quickly.
For a budget hotel the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The concierge was one of the most entertaining person I have ever met. The location is so ideal and virtually central to everything with shops all around the hotle. It`s a short 20 minute ride from the airport. Breakfast was very filling althought the supposed fresh juice was made from water and not concentrate or real juice. Overall for comfort and warmth I rate this hotel at 8-10
The hotel was very good but there was no access to the reception area other than steps and then more steps to the lift. Not disabled friendly or for those who struggle with stairs. Restaurant closed when we wanted to use it, bar area ok but could do with smarting up. Staff friendly, rooms clean and tidy. I would stay there again.
The hotel was clean and very friendly, there was only two things we had a problem with first the shower was not very good there was only a trickle of water no matter what time of day we used it both in our room 211 and our friends in room 210. They had problems with the trains waking them up at about 5-30 in the morning then it was no stop after that we were ok with that problem but they had little sleep after that and i do think they should have been told about it before hand or given the chance to move to another room, Overall the hotel was good and we enjoyed our stay in Dublin Many Thank`s MR G Roots
The rooms were big and very comfortable. The staff were excellent. My wife is a Coeliac and needs a gluten free diet. No problem. She was well catered for and they even went out and got gluten free bread for her so that she could have toast with her breakfast.

I haven`t seen a trouser press in the last 15 tears or so,they`re so outdated. However our overall stay was very pleasant, and the staff were very nice and pleasant..

premiere king room was lovely, very warm at night so had to keep a/c on. restaurant was closed so had to eat out, but other than that great value for money and right in centre of town
Rooms basic but spacious would def stay here again was very good value for money only complaint was maid opening the room door at 8am and woke us up shouting `hello` which I thought was far too early. Staff were very helpful and friendly, especially Paddy who works in the bar, he made us feel very welcome!
staff very friendly and helpful. good location. reasonably priced.
i sent an email to say how much we enjoyed our stay the staff were excellent especially the oldr bar man and the breakfast staff and the value of breakfast was brilliant could you send us any offers you have in the future as we stay in dublin a lot and will definately come and stay at north star again kind regards mr t mcmanus
nice rooms , lovely breakfast and very helpful friendly staff
Staff very pleasant especially Linda who was most helpful. However heating in hotel excessive at times. We needed to leave early disappointed no refund available as we had paid for three nights. Staff in hotel lounge very pleasant. Smokers at front door very off putting. We were up graded to club class however tile of wall in bathroom mirror quite marked in bedroom. Again staff lovely
Had a lovely stay at the north star hotel a great break at a great price!!
hotel was ok, when we first arrived we thought decor was a bit old fashioned and hallways leading up to the rooms were a little dirty and smelly. We started to wonder what our room was going to be like, but our room was absolutely fine. nice and clean. staff were very friendly and happy to help. would stay here again. It was good as a base. we were out all the time so didnt spend much time in the hotel.
Was really noisy in room, so didnt sleep very well at all. Staff friendly.
friendly staff, great location, rooms average, great for a weekend away in dublin
Hotel had a strange smell to it. Although rooms were large, clean and average condition.Room was unfortunately facing the very close railway!!Light sleepers avoid!! Breakfast was superb, and found the staff friendly and efficient. overall, reasonable value for money. Was about a 20 minute walk to temple bar area though....
the hotel was very clean, we had three rooms rooms, all very clean and well equiped, with tea/coffee,shampo/soaps, plenty of towels, very nice hotel, central to all shops/bars
stayed for 2nights jan 2011 had an enjoyable stay no food as flight timesdidnt permit. staff really friendly and helpful would recommend
Hotel was ok, rooms clean and tidy, we had evening meal in restaurant one night which was very nice. One point we would like to make was that the reception is on the first floor with no lift access and as we had a wheelchair this made things a little difficult, the lifts are from the first floor upwards. They also do not have a courtesy baggage room (or rather they do but charge 3 euros per item). Overall the hotel was cheap and cheerful and for the price we paid we couldn`t complain, location was near the train station and when sat in the lounge the room did rumble when a train passed, one good thing is that they dont run during the night.
first impressions were good based on the reception but when you get up the stairs to your room everything changes, the shower dribbled it was awful had to run a bath to wash hair.rooms are desperatly in need of an up date and make you feel sick when you look at the walls they are all over the place, bit further than a 10 min walk from temple bar more like 20 mins and it is in an area that is very foreign you wouldnt of thought you were in ireland. Wouldnt stay again but in terms of value for money you get what you pay for
staff were lovely and very helpful thanks for making it a lovely weekend
The hotel was lovely welcome was good we were upgraded to premier suite upon arrival which was very nice although it was very loud throughout our stay couldn`t work out whether it was the lift or not! A reasonable walk to temple bar quite intimidating at night for the ladies on there own! Lovely breakfast!
- On leaving reception area to go to room, there is ALWAYS a revolting strong smell of cigarette smoke in the `sloped hallway` area!- Breakfast restaurant WAY too hot - needs serious air con` or fans!- Bathroom door handles very filthy & need a good clean!+ Nice rooms with very comfortable beds.+ Provided me with a fan on request.+ Excellent help yourself breakfast.
