Room was lovely and clean. Check-in service was slow and initially couldn`t find our booking via Hotel Direct. Very slow service making two bloody mary`s at the bar and then they were virtually undrinkable - they then charged for three instead of two drinks. Upon leaving, my bar bill was £45 instead of £18 and they had added on room service by mistake - this took approximately 15 minutes for them to sort out
Location superb for sight seeing ,shopping and theatre. definitely stay again.
Hotel was literraly seconds from trafalgar square and within good walking distance of other landmarks of interest such as the South Bank, Convent Garden, Pall Mall, Oxford Street and Regent Street.Rooms were clean and well presented. Staff polite and courteous.I would use this hotel again.
The check in was very clear and the people very informative. All members of staff said hello. could not fault the rooms they were spacious, clean and lovely decor. There were 4 in my party and we all have said that we would not only recommend this hotel but would love to stay again.
GOOD BEDS AND COMFY PILLOWS. CLEAN AND EFFICIENT AND IN A BRILL LOCATION. WOULD DEFINITELY GO AGAIN. PRICEY ENOUGH BUT SO WERE ALL THE OTHERS WE TRIED TO BOOK. LOVED WALKING TO WEST END , COVENT GARDEN AND THE RIVER AREA WAS A WHOLE NEW EXPERIENCE. WE LOVED THE SOUTH BANK AREA JUST A WALK OVER THE BRIDGE CLOSE BY, THERE WAS SO MUCH GOING ON.
Other reviewers are moan bags. This hotel was superb. View was amazing from our room on floor 7. Beds very comfortable and housekeeping were just wonderful, they even came to check that we were happy with it. The guest supplied closet was a nice touch with irons, ironing boards, extra blankets and pillows along with extra drinks stuff. I can`t understand what other people were saying that they were unhappy, in all we were blown away with this. The location is just AMAZING! thank you for a lovely weekend.
Staff very friendly and the service was 1st class. Loved the room and great facilities. Definetly will be staying again soon as it is very close to all the attractions.
Our stay was as a base for celebrating my wife`s 75th Birthday, and was as special as the birthday itself. The only adverse comment is that the dinner menu was somewhat restricted.
This was a good, comfortable hotel in an excellent location. Staff were ok, not as friendly or welcoming as other hotels I have stayed in London but that is just a minor issue.
fast and easy Wi Fi in hotel guest room was a pleasant surprise. Check out process by machine in lobby saved time and queing.
Last time we stayed at Club Q, this time we stayed at The grand and I have to say I am so pleased that I chose this. The room, service and surroundings were excellent! can`t wait to go back later this year.
Read some very mixed reviews on this hotel prior to visit, but found it a gem. Friendly staff, quick check in, very central, ice and water on tap outside our room - slightly noisy outside, but what`s expected on a main road? Would definately stay again.
Good location for shops + attractions
We were touring so this location couldn`t be beat! The hotel was lovely to look and the rooms quite nice while the staff was friendly and helpful.
We have stayed at this hotel on several occassions and thought we had found an "Ideal Hotel" Unfortunately,The Grand was a little poor this time. On arrival our room wasn`t ready until after 3pm. When we did manage to book in the studio ( Only available room ) that we had was disappointing. There is a small kitchenette area with a microwave, kettle and a fridge. The plates hadn`t been washed from the previous residents and still had food on them! The shower drain was blocked so we couldn`t shower.I always try and be positive about hotels and give the benefit of the doubt but, this has spoiled it for us. We will try a different hotel next time.
An excellent hotel, location , quality outstanding.
Was eventually fixed. Nice big room
location fantastic hotel fantastic check in and out excellent but very very disapointed with no residence bar????? nor that it wasn`t pointed out to us?? found ourselves returning from show at 11.10 and couldn`t get a drink We in London and had to go to bed before 11.30 .
Expensive but small room, disappointing breakfast. On the good side, the staff were helpful and friendly.
We enjoyed our one night stay, and would stop again in the future
Excellent stay. Very central. Very Quiet. Slight problem over price of breakfast, but took it up with the management.Ann Chamier
what a hotel our stay was fab staff very helpfull right near to everything we wanted to see and do we will stay here again
Hotel was lovely, grand entrace, modern, very clean, helpful staff and great location. Minutes from Charing Cross tube station, Trafalgar Square and walking distance to Convent Garden and theatres.
this was our second stay at this hotel. my wife and i periodically drive into town and stay the night so we can shop and flop, then go out on the town. parking is a few minutes away of traffalga square. rooms are a good size and decorated well. bathrooms spotless and well maintained. bar a bit pricey but what a great position. breakfast was good to. overall good value for money.
This hotel is a great location for sight seeing it is in the hub of London and beside two underground stations which are a must for getting around London also hotel is ideal for going to Westend shows as we did.Downside to hotel is rooms were cold ! the heating did not work and i had read reviews about this before my visit. The bar is not operated by hotel so getting a late drink or a night cap is not possible and bars in london close up around 1130 and they are strict on this, there are late night bars but not loads and you need to pay cover charge. Overall great location i would rate room 6/10 service was good at front desk also but this hotel is aimed at visiting business people but its a hotel not to be overlooked...
It is `you get what you pay for`, but even in central London $300 a night for seven nights should ensure good assistance with luggage, and daily room makeup.Hhandicapped access was out of order the entire stay. .The front desk was overworked. Boyd`s restaurant is very expensive with poor service and not quite making it food. Watasumt is excellent. I should hve known that this was a budget price club for young people but nowhere in the reservation process was Club Apartments mentioned
Thoughtful & practical additions eg provision of water bottles & refills. Free internet usage & ability to print material eg boarding passes.
We had a room in the inner part of the hotel which had very little natural light, if we were to stay again we would insist on a outer room. No bath which was a bit dissapointing.
The hotel is ideally placed for museums, theatres, restaurants and shopping. It is close to Charing Cross Mainline and tube stations and there are plentiful buses to take you to other parts of the city. Highly recommended.
The Grand was just that, superb entrance hall with all that marble, rooms very comfortable and near all the action on Trafalgar Square#Ideal for theatre break
Xmas 2010 a great hotel which we were fortfunate enough to be stranded in (London ground to a halt due to snow)
