Six of us stayed there overnight (3 generations) and were very happy with our stay. However, the rooms in the new part, which we were first allocated, although high quality, large and modern, had no "real" windows and felt somehow `oppressive`. Maybe that`s a personal thing. Have stayed here several times before and the Crown Moran certainly deserves it`s high rating. Although out of the centre, the saving on congestion charges and parking (if you eat in the hotel), is well worth the journey by tube, bus or taxi!
Pub and the restaurant were excellent. The room was nice, but the exterior wall leaked during a rainstorm. The staff moved us to another room very quickly, and were extremely nice and helpful.
The only thing we could find wrong with the room was that most if the sockets did not work properly and we couldnt figure our the airconditioning! but other than that it was a great stay in a nice hotel
hotel staff were excellant the only down side was the breakfast the plates were cold and having to queue on the stairs not very safe
very nice stay
In all aspects, The Crown outshines itself. I would highly recommend it!
Excellent hotel in it`s category but currently lacking the swimming pool (under repair) to warrant the highest award.
Crown Moran is a nice hotel in cosmopolitan area of London.Prices for food an drink are reasonable and the breakfast was good.A 10 to 15 minute stroll to Kilburn Tube is not that bad or you can get bus.Buy an off peak day card for £6.90(off peak times 09:30 to 15:30 then 19:00 to 06:00)
HAD A NICE STAY HERE - WOULDN`T RECOMMEND WITH THE NIGHT OWL ROOM SERVICE AS IT WAS VERY POOR VALUE FOR MONEY & TOOK ALMOST AN HOUR TO ARRIVE! BREAKFAST GREAT THOUGH.
Stayed in rooms 422 and 424 on ground floor. Girls weekend away. Parking under hotel (turn in righ in front of hotel and drive under - beware very tight turns and small spaces but otherwise good - we ate in hotel so no charge) Rooms had 1xdouble and 1xsingle bed, view of wall, but not really expecting lovely views. Good 20 minute walk to tube station but there is a bus stop outside hotel if you prefer. Lovely cooked breakfast. Bathrooms very clean and rooms looked like they had just been refurbished. Spa/pool out of action when we went but they offered alternative of spa short walk away - we didn`t bother. Would recommend hotel - very nice.
The room was great, the staff were friendly on the front desk. The pool was out of order but there was a free alternative at a nearby leisure centre so cannot complain there. The main problem was the breakfast, it was poorly laid out, staff were not available to point you where to sit, and the tables were only cleared when you finally sat down. Bacon and sausages were left dripping in fat but you had to grab a member of staff to even find out how to get any eggs or toast. All food was left out on the side apart from the eggs which had to be ordered, or at least empty containers which were not topped up...... Likewise, the urns for the tea and coffee were left to run dry without enough cups or plates available for use.If they sorted the breakfast out (we didn`t eat any other meals there so cannot comment) then it would be so much better, it was a shame it spoiled an otherwise good stay.
Lovely hotel with friendly, efficient staff. Only downside was that breakfast was quite poorly organised (over two floors due to space restrictions, with the buffet upstairs). Also, Kilburn tube station is much further than a 10 minute walk away - get a bus or taxi!
A bit far out from the centre of London but excellent. Rooms and food very good.
Staff friendly and helpful, Irish newspapers available which was a bonus. Only disappointment was when hotel booked minicab for us the driver didn`t know London and we almost missed our west end show. Hotel offer an excellent taxi service during the daytime but at night if going into London tale a bus from outside hotel. Enjoyable stay, food freshly cooked and well presented
The hotel was well placed and only let down by a chaotic, farcical breakfast which left us disappointed with our stay
hotel was above highest expectations the staff where very friendly and helpful and always greeted you with a smile rooms where very well kept andvery clean only down side was the distance to tube station but would book this hotel again without a doubt
Not exactly where near we wanted to be, but with transport links being as good as they are it was not a problem.Staff were pleasant and helpful on approach. The room and facilities in the hotel were of a good standard and breakfast offered a choice for the individual.
we cannot wait till we book another stay :)
What a surprisingly good 4* hotel for the price. We stayed for 3 nights and slept well in spite of an air-conditioning system that, in common with most hotels, decided that 20.5C was the temperature we would have, like it or not. Restaurant food was competent if predictable, better eat in one of the bars. Though Cricklewood is not the finest area of London, parking was easy, the tube station only 15 minutes walk and 20 mins into the West End. We will happily go back.
Myself and my two forty+ daughters had a triple room which was plenty large enough for our weekend stay. Breakfast was very good and we were well looked after during our time. It is a bit far out from the west end and the shopping streets, but there are good public transport links. Staff very helpful and all in all we had a fine time.
stayed at the crown moran hotel for 3 nights at the end of janurary 2011.it was easy to get there, good public transport. on arrival fond the staff friendly, and very helpful.the rooms were very comfortable ,clean spacious and quiet , resulting in a very good nights sleep .beds also very comfortable .breakfast was top quality, as also was dinner in the restaurant .very nice bars. also a great looking pool, which i regret i did not get time to use. over all this hotel is top class. when in london will stay at this hotel a county clare ireland very satisfied customer timothy
Really comfortable beds. Clean, tidy, well appointed. Good service. Excellent breakfast.15 minute walk to tube station. Very easy access from M1.A little noisy at night but this is London. Shower could now do with up-dating, but was good enough.
Really enjoyed our short stay. The location was easy to find from the M1. Bus right out side to the tube station at the end of the road. Breakfast was lovely. Bed very firm but comfy. All the linen was clean and fresh. Didn`t have time to try the pool, but will next time!
Lovely hotel, very reasonabley priced, staff all very friendly and helpfull, food was good.
would recommend a good luck at this problem as we pulled the emergency cord in the sauna by mistake and not one person came it just switched itself off, the spa is advisertised on there hotel website but hasnt been in use for 2 years apparently
very nice hotel, excellent staff, comfortable rooms and lovely bar area with good food and open fires!
Although the Hotel is situated a little out of the main London sites, the buses right outside the Hotel were brilliant and running every 5 minutes. The pool at the Hotel was lovely and also the breakfast area was set out lovely and a very enjoyable breakfast too! The staff friendly and very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Crown Moran and will do so again in the future.
Breakfast was slightly cold on the sunday morning but all in all the staff were very helpfull and the stay very comfortable i would stay again
lovely relaxing hotel, very quiet, extremely clean, freindly service, nice pool only downside was the sauna was not working while we were staying,
Would have expected free WiiFii in rooms along with tea and coffee making facilities. Have stayed in budget hotels that provide both.
Really enjoyed the stay.Myself my brother and my 10 year old son had a great stay. Will definetly stay there next time we stay in london. The room was excellent and the staff very helpfull and friendly.
This hotel is a real gem.We found it a great base easy to get to main sights by bus and tube or a short walk to tube station.the hotel is clean modern gym and pool are amazing the breakfast is 5star what ever you fancy its no problem for them to get it I could go on all day .we will be going back there for sure.
Very nice hotel and friendly people and food was excellent
the hotel more than exceeded our expectations. the foyer was stunning. staff were pleasant and helpful. the room was bigger than we expected. the decor was lovely. everywhere was very clean. the beds were comfortable. there was no noise. the breakfast was delicious. the crown pub was great. transport into central london was very easy. good value for money. all in all a delightful hotel and we will definately return.
Bit far from theatre
I booked this as a treat for my boyfriend for his 30th, the hotel was ok but I would say was no better than a 3 star I have stayed in at London. The safe didnt work which we had to ring twice to get someone out and when they did all they were told was a problem with the door, not the safe door so we had to wait for him to come back 3 times till we could go out. We were dissapointed there was no complimentary tea or coffee in the room. An overall experience was it was very clean and quiet.
