A fantastic Hotel. Deserves 5 stars. Was upgraded to a suite, which was great. Myself, my daughter and grandaughter were on a theatre weekend. The staff were very attentive, polite and very efficient. Our room was ready immediately so we could relax straight away. The quality of the room and the food in the dining room was excellent. Highly recommend St Ermins and will certainly stay with you again.

newly refurbished

The hotel has been recently renovated and is not quite finished. The aircon in our first room was non functional and once reported, we were immediately transferred to another room and everything was fine thereafter. The dining facilities are low key but that was not an issue as there are several local venues for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We particularly liked a small Italian around the corner on Victoria Street. Yes, we enjoyed our stay and would be delighted to return to St. Ermins.

Stayed here for a friends birthday, great location tube station is a two minute walk from the hotel. The service was spectacular, staff are very friendly and definitely a service with a smile kind of place. As it was my friends birthday the hotel surprised us all with a chocolate cake and wine. The decor is great and had a fab time. Will stay there again!

Great location for my visit to the Parliament. Very friendly staff. Beautiful room, very good bed. Enjoyed my stay very much.

Although the refurbishment was not completely finished when we stayed, we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The refurb is to a very high standard, the staff were attentive and it`s in a great location . We stayed in a triple room which accommodated the three of us brilliantly (2 bathrooms!) Would definitely stay here here again and reccommend it highly.The only negative we had was that due to refurb not yet 100 per cent completed we were awoken on Sunday morning by drilling directly outside our window.

We have been to this hotel several times before and have always enjoyed our stay but it was starting to get very run down. It have now been refurbished and it was fantastic from when we entered to when we left the staff where brilliant and the decoration has made a huge difference I will definitely go again and recommend this hotels to friends and family, go and enjoy.

We stayed for 2 nights. We were upgraded to a suite free of charge because the hotel refurbishment was still in progress and our double room was not ready. The bed was very comfortable. The decor was pleasant and there was a large TV. The bathroom was very clean and the only disappointment was the small amount of water which came out of the shower. The staff were plentiful and helpful. Breakfast was good but did not have as much variety on offer as I`ve seen in similar rated hotels. The hotel is in a great location for sight seeing.

My Boyfriend and I stayed in London for a long weekend and St Ermins was in the perfect location for sightseeing. Friendly staff and beautifully decorated with period features.

Stayed one night over new year excellent location walking distance to many major attractions very friendly and welcoming staff wonderful bar with open fires great old world feel would deffinately stay again

I would say very good due to friendly helpful staff, very good buffet breakfast, rooms clean and reasonable size and situation. Look forward to seeing the refurbishment in the spring. Lovely building with many features - cornicing, staircase etc - to be admired.

On arrival and departure staff were extremely helpful. Room could do with being re-decorated.

Would of been nice if we were told they were renovating severel floors. The noise was unbearable at 8 o clock in the morning. So much for a nice birthday get away.

Overall the hotel was reasonable, with fairly comfortable rooms and excellent staff but noisy building works on the two top floors from 8.00am through the day was disappointing. Also the washbasin waste discharge and toilet flush did not work properly in our particular room.

Need strength of Achillies to be able to operate taps in bathroom. Room overall just a bit shabby. Reception staff not very communicative, weren`t able to resolve problem with TV and were adamant I had stopped 2 nights when I checked out. Bar staff great.

Although a friendly hotel and very convenient to all tourist and shopping areas it was very much in need of modernising. The twin room that we stayed in, 219, was basic but clean and needed decorating especially in the bathroom where the paint had come off the ceiling. Not convinced by the 4 star rating!

Hotel was good even though the hotel is starting to be refurbished, the staff were friendly and could not do enough for you, we would stay there again once the refurbishment has been completed, very interesting hotel with lots of character.

A comfortable and conveniently situated hotel. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The public rooms and corridors were cold inspite of the additional heating. There was a fire alert on our first night. I appreciate that this was no fault of the staff but communication was not good. We were kept outside in the snow on both occasions, scantily clad, and although staff were present no one was able to tell us what was going on. There was no apology about the two incidents the next day which I would have expected, after all we were outside for the better part of an hour in the middle of the night in the middle of winter.

On the date we stayed we had driven 4 hours, after an accident made us detour around country roads. We were going out in the evening to a concert, being disabled it was a rough journey and I hoped I could relax long enough to ease my pain... The hotel had not told us they were in the middle of renovations and we were placed either next door or above the works. It was impossible to relax, sleeping was out of the question so the pain continued and did not help my thinking regarding the hotel. The staff were wondeful I could not fault them. Breakfast was definately lacking I had paid for an English breakfast it was freezing cold I would have been better not paying the extra and having a cold buffet. I would like to say I`d stay at St Elmins again but I would have to check on works and not pay extra for breakfast. Sorry have to be truthful.

a great hotel and lovey staff had a great time

In need of refurb ,which is underway,will be a interesting visit on our return.Please make sure that ladies have a mirror in front of the dressing table/desk so they can do there make up and hair. with a plug available.

I love the hotel but would never have been there if it was not for the price of your offer. Unfortunately there was building work going on on the Friday when I wanted to rest, this made it impossible. Hope to return to hotel at some stage.

Small and very dark bedroom. Disappointing breakfast - food was not of a high enough quality and the layout of the diningroom inconvenient.The location of hotel was ideal for our needs and we found the staff attentive and helpful.

Hotel is in middle of major refurbishment and although the room facilities were fine, there was paper hanging off both the ceiling and the wall. If I had been stopping for longer than a short overnight stay I would have asked for another room. I didn`t use the dining facilities.

Clean, but in dire need of upgrade

The first room ( 410 ) we where allocated simply awful. However, good response from the front desk in reallocating immediatley. Safe in the room is essential for a 4 star hotel. Bar staff courtious and friendly. No other services used.

OUR ROOM WAS VERY DARK AS IT WAS THE BACK OF THE BUILDING. STAFF VERY FRIENDLY AND A FIRST CLASS SERVICE DURING BREAKFAST. WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN.

The staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel itself was shabby and obviously ready for the planned refit, but will probably stay again when it reopens after the refit
