Second stay at this hotel, which is a bit tired in the rooms, but adequate and clean and it`s location behind the BBC makes it great for business mtgs and pleasure. book well in advance to get the good rates though.
Bedroom was large & had plenty of wardrobe & storage space. Hotel was clean, staff were pleasant & continental breakfast was generous.
basic but very clean and a good location
Ran out of bread and pastries at breakfast!! Bread was eventually replaced after member of staff ran to shop! Could hear underground from hotel room but very big rooms for money more like an appartment as had own kitchen also!
Hotel good value, easy to find, near to theatre, friendly welcome and better than average continental breakfast. enjoyed our stay in a larger than average hotel room with a pristine bathroom.
Hotel staff were helpful and although we arrived early the room was already for us and we even received and up grade.
we only had one night here and to be honest we were glad. Although the room had a spacious living area the bed area was tiny, two single beds pushed together rather than a double and was up against the wall so I had to climb over it to get in. the room definitely needed renovation/redecorating. there was no soap for washing hands, and no little extras like shampoo or even tissues. Location wise - was ok, about a ten minute walk to Oxford Circus tube station. Continental breakfast was okay - a variety of cereal, toast and croissants.
Brakfast good but the lift was clearly audible from the room during the night - a bit irritating.
No where to relax or meet people, no facilities whatsoever, tired rooms and structure but a reasonable location and cost if you book ahead. Provided you know what you are getting it is OK
The hotel room was very big with alot of space and very clean (we were in a triple room but still had plenty of space). The hotel itself was in a good location; close to shops and places to eat and with an underground station only a 5 minute walk away. Breakfast was simple but adequate. Overall we were very happy with our stay.
Rooms clean and servicable, if rather tired-looking and beds not very comfortable. Reception staff could be a little more welcoming and friendly. Fabulous location, though, and not a bad price for such a central hotel.
This is the third time my friends and I have stayed at the astor court hotel and will be back. The location is so convenient, walking distance to nearby oxford street. The hotel is clean and the breakfast is ideal.
clean but shabbyno hot water through shower attachment-lukewarm only
Pleasantly situated hotel in quiet street short distance from Oxford Street. Rooms are good size on ground floor, as we had requested one room to be suitable from one of our party who has trouble with stairs. Water was too cold to bathe in and radiators same. Ctontinental breakfast was ok but lacking in choice. Bread, pastries, yoghurts, juices, tea & coffee, limited choice of cereals. No fruit. Would have been good value apart from heating and water not hot enough.
cannot fault apart from maybe bathrooms need updating?? apart from that great hotel in walking distance to oxford st and theatre land
We found the hotel good value for money, in an ideal location especially for oxford street shopping. The breakfast was good and the room was plenty big enough.
Whilst the Astor Court is in an ideal location, we found our room to be rather dingy with thefurnishings in need of replacement. The window was extremely difficult to unlock, the television reception below par and the kettle rather antiquated which took some fiddling withto get working. The lack of any `extras` like a pen and paper, shower cap etc. was disappointing and the fact that we were unable to replenish tea/coffee supplies later in theevening was particularly annoying especially as we were advised that there would NOT be aproblem. The shower was pretty impotent and the clock on the telephone was running an hour slow. Luckily we didn`t have to rely on this. All in all, the Astor Court is not one we`ll bere-visiting which is a real shame as it`s location is brilliant. On the plus side, the Continental Breakfast was adequate.
Good location - Good breakfast- Rooms 12 and 14 had very poor showers and only luke warm water on Sunday morning. Having toilet separate from bathroom difficult as no sink in toilet in these roomsWould book again but requesting room 19
Comfortable and warm, though a little noisy through the windows due to the roadworks, breakfast fine too.
Its a bit dated although it is currenty undergoing refurbishment. Buts its clean and adequate.
Good for Oxford st shops but poor facilities, adequate breakfast. Strange room layouts with some things not working eg kettle. Staff friendly and helpful but not well informed. Hotel needs revamping bit pricey for what it was.
Hotel had no hot water and the reception staff were not interested when we complained about this fact. Also, very noisy at 7am with children running up and down the corridor ringing the door bells.
...which is always better than the alternative, I suppose! Hopefully the refurb will address the loos without washbasins, tiny bathrooms, the 1950s Eastern Bloc breakfast room (and the breakfasts themselves could be livened up pretty easily too).
We really enjoyed are stay. Was perfectly situated to be able to get about and see everything. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were good a bit outdated but still good value for money. In all i would stay again if visiting central London.
We came up for a wedding during the snow of mid December. Excellent location (behind the BBC). Staff pleasant and welcoming. Room of good size with usual amenities. Good continental breakfast though crowded towards end of serving time. Good value for money. Noise from people outside pub next door, disappeared at midnight Friday, nothing on Saturday. Will recommend and use again.
The breakfast room could have been warmer compared to other areas of the hotel
check in was quick and easy, staff friendly, rooms clean and tidy with and excellent location to shops, shows etc.
Easy to get to nice and quiet in a good location close to oxford street and the tube station would use again,
The Hotel was well run, friendly, warm, clean and comfortable. It was also in a very good location close to Oxford Circus etc - all in all a most enjoyable stay.Thank you.Gareth Ingersent
