very clean, good service, better than expected for budget hotel, good base, would recommend for a cheaper than average stay
Great location, clean and comfy rooms, and friendly and helpful staff! I would definitely recommend this hotel for the great location and feel for Paris. Breakfast was not great. Bad coffee. Upgrade coffee and it would help a lot!
Enjoyed our six night stay. Excellent location for most of the top Paris sights. Very comfy bed. Weather cool despite mid-June which was great as would be very hot otherwise unless windows opened in which case it would be very noisy. Shortage of towels. Breakfast good but restaurant very noisy when metal chairs dragged over tiled floor. Staff friendly. Would stay again. Mike and Rosie.
We agree with all the positive comments above. Many of the negative ones mentioned seem to have been dealt with in the meantime. Rue de la Convention is a noisy street (the regular street markets right underneath the hotel are set up very early!) and, although the double glazing cuts out a lot of noise, without air conditioning one would like to open a window at night! Otherwise perfect hotel in every respect.
Friendly staff, value for money, lovely street market on sunday on the street that the hotel is on. Nearest metro is only 7 stops from a main central line. If you arrive by metro and turn left out of the station keep walking up the street for 2 mins before the street name changes back to Convention street.
The hotel is located on a really nice road with plenty of cafés and restaurants to choose from. The staff were all really friendly on the front desk and all spoke a fantastic degree of English when we were struggling with French. They were happy to recommend places to eat and drink for us and there was someone available at all hours. The room was nice but simple. it had a good view from the window. The only small fault was that there was no air-conditioning in the room which, when it is summer in Paris, we could have really done with. Also, for ladies out there-they do not have hair dryers in the room so remember to take one with you! Overall a very pleasant hotel and we would definitely stay there again.
A pleasant hotel with very helpful staff, rooms were functional and location was good for the metro, sunday morning market was a nice extra! Clean hotel with good basic facilities and very reasonable for a relatively expensive city, would recommend.
This was a clean hotel with charming desk staff. It is conveniently placed for Convention metro stop which takes you straight to the centre of Paris. The breakfast was good for a 2* hotel comprising fruit juice, cereal, yoghurt, 1 croissant,1 roll, toast, jams, coffee, tea, but it is better to be down 3/4 hour before it finishes. There didn`t seem to be any air con so I`m not sure how it would feel on the 6th floor in the height of summer. My only problem is the fire risk as there is only one central staircase.
The hotel was very good value. Quite simple rooms, similar room format to F1 and Etap budget hotels, but clean and inexpensive. Situated on a main street that has a street matket every couple of days and a reasonable restaurant over the road. 3 mins walk from the Metro. Fine for a couple of days business trip, but if you want a romantic Parisien experience, take some curtains and a vase of flowers. I would use it again very good value for a Paris hotel and the breakfast is quite decent continental style.
A lot of dust on skirting board and light fixtures. Oil from door closer running down door, not cleaned. Door slammed if one was not careful. Water in basin draining very slowly. I had to unblock the sink 3 times. Cistern not filling up. I had to fix this a couple of times a day in order to flush the toilet.
It`s an ok hotel. could use with some renovations as to have less mould in the bathroom or add an actual window that opens to air after u shower so that stram goes out!breakfast could use with some meat (bacon, smth for people that are used to those type of things... overall it was ok. clean and well arranged. close to paris centre...
overall a very enjoyable stay
Clean and quiet but in a good location for all of Paris
A good clean friendly hotel in lovely quiet area of the city.Would definately go back.
My wife and I have just returned from a short break in Paris. Our stay at the hotel suited us "right down to the ground".Very clean, well appointed hotel with a very helpful staff, who were on hand to help you, should you need be.Just right for a central point to visit all the sights in and around Paris.Excellent value for money.I would recommend this hotel to anybody on a short break to the french capital.
After reading the reviews on your site we chose the Ajiel and were not disappointed! Although the decor is a bit tired in places the rooms are very clean, the hotel staff are really helpful and friendly and the location is great for all the big attractions. There is an excellent restaurant over the road - the Tosca - which serves great food and the sunday market was a real treat! We would reccommend the Ajiel no problems and would definitely return there. Great value for money!
Great budget hotel in a superb location. Very useful for Paris Expo but equally, quick to access the main areas of town. Locality is a vibrant area with great shops, bars and restaurants.Hotel staff very friendly, rooms small but functional and clean. Breakfast was ideal: help yourself continental choices.
There is nothing I could fault with this hotel - their 3 days for the price of two offer makes it a bargain!! The hotel staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the buffet breakfast is tasty, (freshly made croissants). Rooms are clean and modern. The area of Paris is convenient for the big tourist attractions, but also lovely in itself - there are street markets 3 times a week and countless boulangeries and cafes! An absolute pleasure to stay in, would definately recommend!
Delicious breakfasts, comfortable beds, friendly staff. We really enjoyed our stay and will no doubt return in future. I`d have no qualms about recommending this hotel to my friends.
Overally the experience was very pleasant room was ready on arrival around 11.00 in the morning. Staff was friendly, spoke english and front desk receptionist very helpful with directions.
Hotel itself, is very basic, staff were incredibly freindly (except cleaners)!! Room view was lovely, very reasonable price, breaksfast was included which was also a nice touch, no kettle in room, but private shower and toilet inside, spacious room with smoking cost around £80.00 great value, would use again, parking though was a nightmare!!!
We read up on this hotel in tripadvisor and the advice was invaluable. My daughter and i found the family room perfectly comfortable, with excellent room service/cleanliness and everything worked. The suggestion to bring a travel kettle was well made, and any additional extras you might think you will need should accompany you. The rooms are exactly what the description says - and as such, we were very happy with this little place. The breakfast is a good start to the day, and if you want more, there are plenty of cafes and supermarkets to supplement. You save in £ and enjoy a friendly accommodating welcome from all the staff as well as a good location from which to base your time in Paris. We will definitely return.
We were very pleased with the Ajiel Hotel - delightful double aspect room, very clean and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and courteous. Nothing was too much trouble.Excellent value!1st class fast Metro and Bus services nearby into the centre of Paris. We would stay there again without hesitation! Martyn and Sharon
BREAKFAST WAS OK BUT EARL GRAY TEA IS A REQUIRED TASTE DISAPPOINTED THAT THERE WAS NO OTHER TYPE OF TEA. THERE WAS NO IRON OR IRONING FACILITIES.OUR SHOWER WAS NOT BRILLIANT.
Clean, comfortable and friendly staff. Hotel is well situated. Rooms are a bit too warm but otherwise was very happy with the standards.
Pleasant hotel, breakfast basic but well presented.
The Hotel was very good value for money. Room was very clean and tidy. We got three nights stay for the price of two nights and also had complimentary breakfast. It is located 5 minutes walk from Convention Metro station.
the room was quite big: the beds comfortable: bathroom clean, (though shower head wouldn`t stay up and our request for it to be mended hadn`t been honoured): receptionists excellent: breakfast good (as much coffee and juice as we wanted): close to a main Metro (12): all in all, a good little hotel!
Close to metro and a great restaurant "Le Source" near the convention metro station. Two courses 13 euros, three courses 15 euros, very nice food served by friendly staff. Great shopping centre next to Montparnasse 56 tower. Local stalls along rue de la convention, Carrefour supermarket across the road from the hotel where you can get a cheap lunch. Take a travel kettle with you as there are no complimentary tea + coffee facilities.Comfy beds and decent sized rooms with a good size en suite ( no bath) shower, wc, and wash hand basin.Rooms cleaned and made up daily if required with fresh towels. Continental breakfast only and no bar or restaurant. Lift facilities for disabled access.
I booked a triple room for my two adult daughters and myself for a short break and it was ideal for this occasion. The room was large enough for 3 and the bathroom too with a powerful shower. I was pleasantly surprised to find that a 2 star hotel gave us clean towels each day and shower gel etc. The breakfast was good and plentiful and although a distance from the sights it was nice to stay in a less touristy area. The Sunday market was an added delight and the metro into Paris was easy to use and the trains frequent. The staff were friendly too.
Only comment room very hot, but it was some of the hottest day and nights -would have liked air con - but what can you expect at price
The room was quite small and exceptionally airless. it would benefit from a ceiling fan at the very least as it was almost impossible to keep the window open (eventually I lwedged it open with the waste paper bin!) The bed had a mattress cover which made sleeping quite uncomfortable and added to the feeling of being so hot.. I appreciate they need to have some covering on the beds but a quilted cotton type would be more comfortable. There wasnt a pillow case on the pillow. On the plus side, the bathroom appeared to be newly refurbished and gave a good shower. The breakfast was very good with a varied choice and quite exceptional when compared to the majority of hotels in Paris that do not include breakfast.
A very good hotel I was very impressed for a 2 star hotel cleaned daily the only downfall was one plug in the room.
I stayed for one night and found the hotel to be very clean and adequate for my needs. The staff were helpful and the breakfast was basic but okay. I stayed on the Saturday night and was awoken early by the erection of the street market outside. I would stay here again though as it is a good budget hotel.
My daughter, granddaughter and I had a three day stay at the Ajiel wwhile in Paris to see the end of the Tour de France. The hotel staff were very friendly, helping the 11 year old with her French. The area was fine, with eating places near the hotel. The market on Sunday morning was an extra bonus.
