My daughter and I stayed here on a weekend break ! We found it perfect for our stay . Close proximity for shopping in Oxford street and close to the tube stations for easy access for sightseeing and theatre land ! It was clean and very comfortable ! I am a light sleeper and wasn`t disturbed once ! If there was one thing that was wrong it was the fact that the curtains allowed the daylight to stream in early in the morning ! But on the 2nd night I put the suitcase against them and this helped a lot ! Would definitely use this hotel in the future :-)
Breakfast could have been better presented. Resembled a canteen service.
Great location but it is not cheap. Some rooms are really small with the bed up against the wall which isn`t ideal. Breakfast will cost you £18 each in the hotel but there`s a Wetherspoons just around the corner where you can get 2 breakfasts and drinks for £12.Have never tried Rhodes restaurant but there always seems to be plenty of people in there.Always put the `Do Not Disturb` sign on the door otherwise housekeeping will be knocking on the door before 8 a.m., not good on a weekend break!
Rooms clean and comfortable. Public rooms very grand. Bathroom requires a more effective extractor fan, as became very steamy when having a shower. Bathrom became a wet room when taking a shower as the shower screen had no rubber seal at the base of it. Breakfast was an experience - the Market Restaurant was more like a school canteen/motorway service station than a breakfast room. Food was OK but nothing spectacular so would not recommend having breakfast there unless it was inclusive in the booking price. Situation is good close to Oxford Street and the shops, the underground station, Marble Arch and lots of pubs and cafes/restaurants nearby. Would stay there again but would probably forego breakfast unless it was part of the deal.
Was made to feel welcome the moment I walked in. Very nice staff. Service was excellent. The lobby is amazing and the bar is very atmospheric. Room was very clean and tidy. Air con excellent. The only thing I could complain about was a strange smell of drains in the bathroom, which seemed to come and go. Otherwise, a very good hotel.
Great location, just didn`t have long enough to enjoy them all. Thanks.
The Hotel was modern and clean... The staff were friendly, although the room was a little small but the location is fantastic!
Room was well equipped. The staff were really helpful and the location brilliant. Couldn`t wish for better, will definitely stay here again.
Thrilled to be upgraded to the room with bath AND lovely view of Hyde Park - and particularly want to mention Edita, who was so welcoming and helpful! A memorable visit. Our thanks to you all.
Even though we arrived at about 09.45 we were given the choice of a quiet room in the adjacent building. This was really excellent and courtious service. All the more apparent when we went out next morning to find a 100ft crane outside the main building!! and we never heard a thing. will definetly return
A lovely hotel which we will use again. Very friendly and in a brilliant position for visiting London. Thankyou
beds superb, nice large room. well placed for buses, tubes & shopping. ,would love to stay here again
Really comfortable, very attentive and friendly staff. There was a slight draft from the window at night, the TV signal was not great, and the shower leaked a little - but other than that, a fabulous 4-star stay. I will definitely be recommending it.
Great service, very handy location.
comfort level first class especaially the bedroom, probably any hotels most important asset,a sound nights sleep.
Have been here before could not fault anything with this hotel.. staff friendly and polite.. Hotel spotless and really central... roll on my next visit
would stay there again, would recommend to friends
It was our first time staying at the Cumberland and would most defiantly stay again. Good large clean rooms and extremely quiet, more than enough on site eating/drinking which make this hotel the perfect balance of quality and value.
My only reservation was that the toilet of room 4110 wasn`t properly cleaned - I had to clean the toilet seat itself before usage
The hotel was good. Very modern and upto date. The rooms are very clean and comfortable to stay in. The bed is lovely too! You wont want to get out! Hotel service was easy and fast. All members of staff are happy to help.very good location for the shops! And just a short taxi journey or tube to theatre land. Would definately reccomend again.
extremely central and convenient in location. 24 hour friendly and competent staff. beautiful lobby and a number of different dining experiences avalable inside the hotel. only difficulty was that the internet was overpriced and we had difficulty with internet connections. all other facets were excellent.
Very comfortable and staff very helpful. Highly recommended
We were not aware that it was necessary for Guests to book for evening meal in the Brasserie. When we went there at 7.30pm we were told that it was fully booked (by non resident parties ) so then had to go searching for elsewhere to eat
The £55 Service Charge on the meal at W1 was over the top. The drinks were far to expensive but the food was good.
The hotel accommodation was good however we found that even though I paperwork said we could have our room from 2pm that it still wasn`t ready when we arrived at 3pm and then we were woken up by the cleaners trying to access our room at 8.30 am even though we didn`t have to vacate until 12pm.
Lovely hotel, well positioned. The room was very comfortable and a lot bigger than i expected. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I would defiantly stay at the Cumberland again it was good value for London
pillows left much to be desired
Our stay at the Cumberland was marred by the absence of any water on the Sunday morning. The attitude of the staff member at the check in desk when we reported the problem was dismissive and rude. When we asked to see a manager, she disappeared and returned after to sometime saying none was available. After much effort, we eventually got an e-mail address for a manager. I should have paid attention toTrip Advisor`s ratings. There were long queues for check-in and the the noise in the hotel foyer was horrific with children running about screaming and the hard surfaces of the foyer did nothing to deflect the noise level. I would not recommend it to anyone. Its only positive feature is its location.
Hotel is excellent in most respects, the only failing is the registration/checkout procedure which is extremely slow, perhaps a feature of a large foreign clientele during my visit.
The room was small and in need of refurbishment - scratched and damaged furniture, shower had mildew. overall disappoiinting for a room at this price and in this class of hotel
Great hotel, clean and very good location ,However the constant noise from cars and buses throughout the nite could drive you nuts if youve only just arrived from the countyside as i had.
Very clean and plenty of room in the bedrooms. Bathroom cleaned to a high standard. Slightly noisy being so near to oxford street, plus problem being able to get in the lifts at 9:30 in the morning, as everone in the hotel seemed to be using them. Unable to find any stairs to walk down.
The single room was adequate but NO view from the window I felt closed in. A very nice bathroom.£170 with no breakfast for one night! I checked out at 7.30 am.Not good enough!!
Excellent location, really comfortable hotel at the heart of Oxford Street, easy access to Selfridges, etc. Stayed here twice and would return...
