The decor in the room was shabby to say the least and well overdue for a fresh coat of paint.A `clean` towel had blood stains on it!!The restaurant (still advertised in the lift) was always closed and instead we had only the option of the roof terrace `bar/restaurant` which basically was a grossly overpriced barbecue with a salad bar - 20 euro for two very small sausages and some french fries. However on the plus side they did have a fabulous Italian red at only 12 euros a bottle and the bar staff were fantastic. The buffet breakfast was always a battlefield with only two staff working so hard to keep everything going. Normally it was impossible to find a clean table to sit at or indeed a clean cup to pour some coffee into!!Definitely NOT a hotel I would stay at again or recommend to friends or even to people I dislike intensely.I think I saw it described on your website as a `hidden gem`. Best to keep it hidden!
Had an absolutely amazing weekend in Rome for my husbands 50th birthday and our anniversary. This was made all the more special by staying at Cardinal St Peter, had everything you could wish for in a hotel. Especially enjoyed the jacuzzi at the end of a long day walking round the great sites in Rome.
We had a few problems, mini fridge didnt work, had broken glass in the bath that had to be tidied and one day we didnt have two bath towels and it took a while for them to bring up an extra one. But it was an ok hotel. I thought the breakfast was nice
3 different reception staff told us 3 different answers to our query about getting back to the airport. This is unacceptable. This is surely one of the most frequently asked questions in a tourist hotel. We found some of the reception staff too quick to see any query as a problem rather than try to be of assistance. Rooms were unbearably warm with the only option to open the patio door which was then a security risk. Walls were so thin you could hear everything in the next room very clearly!! Breakfasts were very basic and disappointing. I do not go to Italy to have horrible coffee from a machine, or orange juice for that matter! On the positive side, some of the younger staff were extremely friendly and helpful - namely Luca for one. We would not stay there again.
We arrived at the hotel on a Sunday afternoon and was impressed with the service given and noticed the signs encouraging the use of the hotel restaurant. We want to look at the local area and came back to the hotel at 7 very hungry and planning to try the restaurant. On arrival however we were greeted with a waiter informing us that the restaurant was full. We asked if we could come back later but no joy. I would have thought that a hotel would offer reservations for its guests or find them a table especially as no other restraunts in the surrounding area are open on a sunday. The only other places the hotel could recommend which are open on sundays were on the other side of the city. We ended up with a choice of McDonalds or take away pizza from a fast food place down a side street. Not a great start to the holiday.
The location of the hotel was not clear and as such caused us a little confusion in trying to find it the first night, and the breakfast is very average - basic continental and all self service. On the whols though a nice non tourist area with good modern and clean rooms. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful.
The hotel had most of the necessary features to be a very nice short stay 4 star hotel but unfortunately it is being neglected. Already the hotel is starting to look shabby; the carpets are dirty and the outside of the hotel is deteriortating rapidly and the entrance vestibule smells strongly of cat`s urine, due to the fact that there is no door. The breakfast was very mediocre and the staff, although responsive, were not customer focussed. In my opinion this hotel needs some strong management if the capital investment is to be recovered.Phil Balmond
Hotel generally good breakfast mostly complete disaster. Empty food trays not unusual, days when all breakfast tables not made up, left with dirty crockery, cutlery, no cups available, no clean cutlery available. Would have understood if staff generally stretched but some staff laying tables for lunch whilst people still arriving with no facilities for breakfast. All this occurring at 09.15 hrs when breakfast finished at 10.am.Hotel web page advertises ?enjoy evening cocktails in tranquility of rooftop overlooking Vatican? Great view of Vatican, Jacuzzi`s really nice although one of three not working and one very dirty, BUT no cocktails available (no bar, no service) and entire roof top shut at 8pm. In fact my wife and I were locked in the roof and staircase with all access doors to hotel secured.Overall rating this is a four star high cost hotel which is easily been matched by two star hotels at much lower pricing.
the hotel wasa excellent. Very clean and worth the fees. However, it would be helpful if the rooms have irons considering that prople who stay in hotels would want to straighten their clothes after being packed in suitcases for hours onend, otherwise, the hotel and staff are fantastic.
Excellent facilities and friendly staff made the stay very enjoyable. The only downside was that the hotel is a little distance from the nearest underground connection - the underground is vastly under-used and is an excellent and cost effective way of seeing Rome.
The hotel was difficult to find - get clear directions. It does not have a full restaurant and breakfast was basic. It was very disappointing to only have the option of machine made instant coffee or hot drinks.
During our stay here, one of our party was robbed. Items were taken from his ground floor room whilst he was sleeping. Entry was gained through the door to the balcony. The hotel had no formal policy for dealing with a potentially dangerous situation and little was offered in the way of practical help.
We had a fantastic stay at this hotel, the staff were very helpful and the room was great with a good breakfast selection. Although this is a little further out you can walk to the metro stop or take the bus which stops nearby. A restaurant facility would be beneficial.
it was very clean, all sttafs were friendly, best services ,and good breakfast was served i enjoyed and i would go back in future
Overall, extremely happy with the hotel -- rooms were decent and well kept, breakfast was a welcome inclusion and location was reasonable -- although not fantastic. The walls were all paper thin, so you`re at your neighbours` mercy for getting a good morning`s rest.
