room, facitilities and staff could not be faulted.
Dissappointed that we were not informed about the closure of the Health Suite during our stay prior to arriving. However rooms were excellent, staff very helpful and curteous, would stay again.
First room tiny and stale Not sure Joe can hire it as 5 star , however all well once upgraded .
The hotel is situated in an ideal part of London, the staff are very friendly and the hotel is very smart and comfortable. The bar is very relaxed and we had a lovely breakfast. We were upgraded from a standard to a delux room, which is always nice. Very happy to come and stay here again and would reccomend this hotel to others. We had a very enjoyable time here.
Overall stay very good but upon arrival the man booking us in at reception did not tell us anything about the faciilites within the hotel. We overheard what the hotel offered when another guest was checking-in the following morning - when we were checking out! Breakfast and service excellent. Room very nice but very small.
There was a problem with our heater in classic room. Engineer came to fix it whilst we went out for an hour. Came back - engineer still there. ASked to change room as we didnt` want to share our expensive birthday treat with the engineer, lovely as he was. They said they would phone us back. They didn`t. I phoned them and after some persuasion they found us another room which was an upgrade and was lovely. However, it was clear that they would have rather we shared the room with the engineer which wasn`t acceptable service. Other than that the hotel is very nice, excellent location, breakfast fine but overpriced which seems to be useful. The classic rooms are really small. Deluxe room lovely but bathoroom needs updating. If you love swimming pools then this is the hotel for you.
Room very noisy: could hear conversations and plumbing from adjoining rooms and doors banging in corridor. Also very hot as air con not working properly. However beds comfy and nice big towels. Didn`t use gym or pool but looked impressive. Courteous staff.
Excellent location by tube in central London. Room fine although bathroom tired, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast excellent although £25 for two drinks in the late bar a bit of an abuse.
Excellent breakfast. Some small problems - only one cup on tea & coffee tray in room ( for 2 people), heated towel rail not working. Not sure why it is 5 star - have stayed in 3 star hotels where the room was every bit as well furnished and as big.
A shame as when we arrived the outside was completely covered by scaffolding and sheeting, we were disappointed at first. The staff were very professional and the presentation of the reception area was impressive. Our room was a good standard, and we were very happy with our room. The only let down was the bathroom, the bath looked tired and stained and the walls were unfinished and looked like a peice of marble clad had come off and been left. The threshold had a lump of grey filler ontop of a crack which although not really important, it wasn`t pretty. The dinner service in room and restaurant was brilliant, food was excellent and the staff prompt and polite. The pool was freezing, even after 20 lengths, which cut short our swimming however it was a great fitness facility area and very well organsied. All in all a great experience, but sending us to somewhere with extensive building works happening was not a plus.
nicest hotel i have ever stayed in. lovely hotel only thing we found problems with was the cold breakfast in the morning.
Good hotel but accommodation not as booked. We booked a triple room for three teenagers aged between 15 & 18, we chose this on-line booking as a triple room was available, however when we got to the room an uncomfortable fold up bed was the third bed, very disappointing and unsuitable considering the cost. We complained and eventually got a room with three beds but the holiday got off to a bad start!
beautifully appointed, lovely room, excellent staff service, even saving our bags after checkout whilst we went shopping!! superbly situated in the centre of london, couldnt fault anything, we will use you again, thankyou very much; my wife enjoyed her birthday very much!
Our room on checking in was absolutley freezing. Maintenance appeared without us asking so it was obviously a known problem They ended up bringing us a mobile radiator. Room was small and clean but needed a make over. Bathroom clean but dated, needed painting and also cold not what i was expecting from a 5 star hotel.Breakfast was a good inclusion.
Hotel service and food was excellent. Rooms were comfortable and warm. Had a thouroughly enjoyable stay.Staff very helpful and friendly. My only very minor criticism is that it would have been good to have more `normal` tea bags and milk in the room.
Whilst my overall impression of the hotel is good - I have stayed a various 4*/5* hotels over the years. I was disappointed in the `hair-dryer`. Whilst very useful it seemed down-market considering it is a 5 star hotel. I have arthritis in my hands and having to keep the button depressed to operate was difficult and painful. Have had better hair-dryers in 4 star hotels. My friend felt that the reception staff looked untidy with open-neck shirts - a collar/tie would be more in keeping with 5 star. Our room - 635 - only had a very high window - I couldn`t look out as I am only 5ft. If I had been on my own I would have found this rather claustrophobic.Enjoyed my visit and the hotel is very convenient for major attractions.
Excellent hotel in fantastic location. You get what you pay for as with most things & this hotel is worth every penny. Good competent staff, excellent food, ideal location.
Le xxxxx is in central Picadilly which means the location for our visit was excellent. The complimentary bottle of wine as greatly received. The room was large and bed very comfortable. Being at the back of the hotel meant we had a quiet room. Overall extremely pleased with the outcome of not knowing where we had booked. Would definitely recommend.
The queue for breakfast (Sunday 9.20am) was long and we waited at least 20 minutes, eventually agreeing with another couple to share a table for 4 so that we could get in. The bacon was horrible both days (greasy and not lean). On Sunday all the cold meat had run out, as had the croissants, buns and there was only a tiny amount of one loaf of bread left on the bread board for slicing ourselves. The toaster was inadequate to cope with the numbers and slow to toast. We are used to hotels of this calibre having an industrial size toaster. The fruit and cereal were wonderful and we were pleased to see the range of nuts and seeds to add to the cereal and wonderful fresh fruit. Unfortunately we are thinking that we would not stay in this hotel again as the disadvantages at breakfast outweighed the advantages.
How do you define 5 star service? Usually it is the small things which make the difference between first and second place, as it was in this case. Firstly it is only right to say I would be happy to stay here again. The location, right off Picadilly Circus was fantastic and provided a central location for the activities planned for a family half term visit. The condition of the hotel, lobby, swimming pool, rooms was more than satisfactory. Staff were curteous and helpful, breakfast on the terrace was great. What was missing were things like room hair dryer, shower pressure (we were on 8th floor), scaffolding around outside of building. So 5 star i don`t think so but a very good 4 star.
Fantastic location - couldn`t be better. No real need for the tube unless you`re going further afield. Sadly, due to the undeniably necessary facelift in operation, we had scaffolding obscuring our view, but moreover, work men clattering and banging outside our 4th floor window at 7.30am!Room ok. Very squashed though and finishings not 5*.The Spa was nice to use at the end of a tiring day. The staff were friendly. Breakfast good.
Room could have done with a touch up, I would rate it more of a 4* and bathroom was not what one would expect from a 5* but more a 3*. Breakfast was excellent and staff could not have been more helpfull they were 5*+
we had probabley the biggest bed as i can remember from any other hotel stay, well decorated spaciuos room, bathroom a tad on the small side, but other wise the room was great. defenately take your swimming cossy, the pool and hot tub/steam room, super.my only critism,if you pre pay for breakfast/included in the cost at booking, the service you recieve is second to customers paying at the table (tips) choose the buffet if you want a full english, a la catre will take half hour
The hotel was very nicely decorated in a contemporary style, our room was very comfortable, with the largest bed I have ever slept in! T he restaurant is lovely with a large glass roof, a bit like sitting in a conservatory. The breakfast was excellent, with a very wide range of hot & cold food. The full English breakfast was particularly good. The best thing about the hotel however was the service. It was my husbands birthday, & we were upgraded to a Club Room, & given complimentary champagne & Belgium chocolates. A very nice touch which made our stay even more special!
we had a wonderful stay - the staff were first class, room clean and comfortable and breakfast was lovely
I stayed with my grandaughter on a bed and breakfast deal. Housekeeping and service were excellent, room was a llittle tired.Overall a pleasant stay in the centre of a very busy city.
We stayed in a recently refurbished part of the hotel which was really quite nice but the breakfast was excellent - not one of those monster self service buffets where the smell of the warmers overwhelms you as you enter the room but a table served menu with a tasteful cold buffet as well. The general standard of service was excellent. The location is of course outstanding. The hotel had suffered a little in the past and needed a refurb but seemed to me to fully deserving of its 5 star accreditation now.
breakfast expierence poor complained to manager the bacon and hash browns were over cooked . the bacon still had the rind left on making it difficult to cut digest and keep on the plate!!
Excellent service as on our previous stay. However, our room on the eighth floor was in need of some TLC. I would still highly recommend this hotel for it`s excellent location and breakfast!!!!
room was as expected ( first class ) staff very proffesional nothing was any trouble and they excelled in their roles to please us during our stay
we stayed at this 5star piccadilly and didnt want to come home! the door man sean was excellent and so friendly as were all the staff.you could tell the hotel had just been referbished as you could smell the newness of the carpet and it was spotless the beds and pillows were the best ever and the breakfast was fantastic the location was also fantistic the theaters, tgi fridays and chinatown are all with in walking distance!
Hotel is good - rooms could do with a refurbishment and its quite noisy especially if you are on the Regent Street side of the hotel.
Leisure facilities were excellent. Reception and concierge first rate and extremely helpful.
