Getting there:
Flights into Glasgow Airport are served by the Citylink bus service. Route 905 leaves every 15 minutes into central Glasgow.
Getting around:
Glasgow underground has 15 stations dotted around the city. Trains are regular, fast and tickets cost just £1 for a single journey. Visit Glasgow Subway for more information
Tipping:
10-15% is normal in cabs and restaurants (where a service charge is usually included in your bill).

Travelling to Glasgow

Flights
Glasgow Airport
Flights into Glasgow Airport are serviced by the Arriva's Glasgow Flyer. There are frequent services - every seven minutes at peak times - to Glasgow city centre. The journey time is approximately twenty five minutes. All buses are fully accessible and drop off at various locations in the city centre close to key public transport hubs, including Glasgow Central and Queen Street railway stations and Buchanan bus station. The city centre bus stops have an airport link logo on them.

Trains
Paisley's Gilmour Street railway station is the nearest to the airport. Just one mile from the terminal, it can be reached by taxi or by regular bus services from bus stop bay 1 – located just outside the airport terminal building. Car
If bringing a car into Glasgow please note that no hotels offer free parking and Glasgow parking costs are high.

Glasgow Underground (Subway)
Glasgow Underground, or the 'clockwork orange' as it is known in Glasgow, is normally the quickest and easiest way of getting around Glasgow. One-way and Return journey tickets can be purchased at all Underground stations either at the ticket offices or from the automatic machines.

Bus
Glasgow Buses are a quick and convenient way to travel around Glasgow, providing plenty of sightseeing opportunities en route. Buchanan bus station is the largest in Scotland and has benefited form a 9 million pound refurbishment. Up to 40,000 passengers per day travel on the bus services in Glasgow, and daily departures from Buchanan station have increased from 600 to 1,700 in the last few years.

Taxi
Unlike London you cannot hail a taxi in the street. However there are a number of taxi ranks located throughout the city. Receipts if required need to be requested from the driver.
