Visas:

Getting there:
Flights into Heathrow and Gatwick are serviced by Express trains to the centre (Paddington & Victoria).
Getting around:
London Underground, "Tube". Buy a Day Travel Card which also valid for London buses.
Tipping:
10-15% is normal in cabs and restaurants (where a service charge is usually included in your bill).

Travelling to London

Flights
Heathrow Airport 
Flights into Heathrow Airport are serviced by the Heathrow Express which arrives at Paddington station in central London. The journey time is 20 minutes. From Paddington you can take the Tube to any London destination.Alternatively, take London Underground from Heathrow to central London. The 'Tube' stops at all stations on the Piccadilly line including South Kensington, Hyde Park, Covent Garden and Kings Cross. The journey time is 40-60 minutes.
Gatwick Airport
Flights into Gatwick airport are serviced by the Gatwick Express which arrives at Victoria station in central London. The journey time is 30 minutes. From Victoria you can take the Tube to any station.

Train
The U's rail network places most people within a train ride of central London. London's mainline stations are Kings Cross, Euston, St Pancras, Liverpool Street, Paddington and Victoria. To find out prices and timetables, visit National Rail. From all mainline stations you can take the Tube to any London destination.

Car
If bringing a car into London, please be aware of the Congestion Zone charges. You can find out more by visiting Congestion Charge London. Also note that no hotels offer free parking and London parking costs are high.
