La Rinascente La Rinascente Metro: Macro Piazza Fiume, Rome, 06 88 41 231 La Rinascente was the first department store to open in Roma in 1887. It`s current name evolved in 1917 when it was called this by the famous Italian poet Gabriele D`Annunzio after a serious fire ( Rinascente means "that is reborn") The architecture by De Angelis has remained unchanged. It is the most upmarket store in Rome and prices are not cheap. Nevertheless, it is worth going there for off-the-peg clothes, household linen, luggage and the perfume counters. It has a well stocked men`s section and offers a good selection of ties and shirts. |
