Room and hotel facilities:

Each of the one and two bedroom apartments at Chester Residence cover a whole floor of the Georgian townhouses which they occupy. The spacious bedrooms have kingsize beds and Egyptian cotton bed linen. Bathrooms feature rainfall showers and have complimentary Molton Brown toiletries. All apartments have fully fitted kitchens and Nespresso coffee machines, dining areas and sitting rooms. The lower ground floor Mews Apartments also have direct access to a patio or gardens. For the ultimate luxurious stay, guests can book the Owner`s Residence with its Jacuzzi bathroom and private cinema room. Although the hotel does not have a restaurant of its own, Continental Breakfast can be delivered to apartments and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance guests. The IX Bar and Lounge is available to residents throughout the day with an extensive menu of wines, champagnes, beers and spirits.

The apartments are just 10 minutes walk from Princes Street, the city`s main thoroughfare and shopping street. The Royal Miles and Edinburgh Castle can also be reached within 20 minutes.

Getting there:

BY TRAIN: From Edinburgh Haymarket Station turn right onto Clifton Terrace. Take a slight left to stay on Clifton Terrace and the road will lead you onto West Maitland Street. At the corner turn left onto Palmerston Place and then take the next right onto Rothesay Place. The apartments will be on your right. BY CAR: from the M6 junction 13, take the A702 exit sign posted Edinburgh/Lanark/A73. At the next roundabout take the 4th exit onto A702. After 0.2 miles at the next roundabout take the 2nd exit and stay on A702. After a further mile take the 2nd exit at the roundabout and stay on A702. After 22 miles take the 1st exit at the roundabout onto Carlops Road/A702. Continue to follow the A702 for the next 12 miles and then take the 1st exit at the roundabout for Biggar Road/A702. Almost immediately there will be another roundabout, take the 1st exit to stay on Biggar Road/A702. Continue to follow A702 for the next 1.7 miles and then turn left onto Greenbank Drive. After 0.3 miles turn right onto Morningside Grove and then left onto Morningside Drive, which turns right and becomes Craighouse Road. Continue onto Myreside Road and then onto Gray`s Loan. Turn right onto Polwarth Terrace and turn left onto Harrison Road and continue straight onto Ardmillan Terrace/A70. Using the left hand lane turn right onto West Maitland Street/A8 and then turn left onto Palmerston Place. Take the next right on to Rothesay Place and the Apartments will be on your right. Please note the 24 hour reception for all apartments is at 9 Rothesay Place, 5 of the apartments are located on Chester Street which is a two minute walk.

The hotel has limited onsite parking which must be booked in advance and costs £25 per night. On street parking is also available charged by the hour.
