Hotel and location:

The Mariano Hotel, was originally built in 1880 to accommodate the officers of the Italian Kingdom and later converted into a hotel. It is situated on the Esquilino, one of the seven famous hills of ancient Rome. The hotel is in a prime position for those looking to explore the city as it is just a 5 minute walk from Termini station, from which it is possible to reach any point in Rome. The Colosseum, Santa Maria Maggoirre and the Opera house are within a 20 minute walk.

Getting there:

FROM AIRPORT: There is an express train service every 30 minutes to Rome`s Termini train station (Journey time 30 minutes). A single ticket costs around 10euros. FROM TERMINI STATION: Turn right onto Via Giovanni Gilotti and take the fifth right which is Via Rattazzi, after the first crossroads this is Piazza Manfredo Fanti where you will see the hotel.

City Tax: From 1st January 2011 the authorities in the City of Rome will levy a city tax of 2 euro per person per day which is payable at the hotel and not included in the above room rate.
