Hotel and location:

The Elmbank hotel is located less than a mile away from York city centre and approximately 15 minutes walk from the railway station. The city centre is within easy walking distance where visitors can explore the 2 miles of ancient city walls and gateways as well as York Minster which is 20 minutes on foot. Visitors to York should also visit the city`s most famous street The Shambles and take their time visiting the mixture of unusual shops and tea rooms inside the preserved Elizabethan buildings. There are also plenty of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes for evenings out in the city.

Room and hotel facilities:

The 3* Elmbank Hotel, built in the 1870s is still full of character and retains many Art Nouveau features such as its stained-glass windows and grand oak staircase. Each room has been thoughtfully designed to incorporate modern amenities. These include TV with Freeview channels, tea and coffee making facilities, free Wi-Fi, mini-fridge and hairdryer. All rooms have ensuite bathroom with complimentary toiletries. Leetham`s Brasserie serves light lunches and Afternoon Tea as well as a traditional Sunday Lunch (booking recommended). Guests can also relax in the opulent Peacock Bar. Although there is no lift at the hotel, Courtyard Classic rooms are available on the ground floor.
