Hotel and location:

The 4* Staybridge Suites Newcastle is centrally located between Gateshead, which is 10 minute, drive and Newcastle City Centre, a 20 minute walk, as well as being only 15 minutes drive from Newcastle International Airport. This is a great location for business travellers to Newcastle as well as those attending events, Newcastle Railway Station and the Central Metro Station are also less than 20 minutes walk from the hotel. The Metro Radio Arena is approximately 25 minutes on foot and the waterside Sage Gateshead is less than 15 minutes walk away across the Tyne Bridge. There is also plenty of nightlife in this area at the rejuvenated Quayside where there are an abundance of bars and restaurants to choose from.

Getting there:

BY ROAD: Heading south-east on the A1 take the exit towards Darrington and drive through one roundabout. Turn right onto Valley Road and then left onto Old Great North Road. After 0.4 miles merge onto A1, keep right to continue on A1 (M), follow signs for Wetherby/Manchester/Leeds/M62. After 62 miles keep right at the fork to stay on A1(M). After another 30 miles keep left to stay on A1(M) for the next 4.7 miles. At junction 69 take the A184 exit to Central Gateshead/Central Newcastle. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Askew Road/A184 and then use any lane to turn left onto Gateshead Highway/High Street/A167. Follow this route and use the left lane to take the A186 slip road to Walker/City Centre (South). Use the 2nd from the right lane to turn slightly right towards Pilgrim Street/A186. Make a slight left onto pilgrim Street/A186 and then continue straight onto Melbourne Street. Continue onto Buxton Street and the hotel will be on your left.
BY TRAIN: From Newcastle station walk east and turn right towards Neville Street. Make a slight right onto Neville Street and then a slight left onto Collingwood Street. Follow this route for 0.2 miles and then turn right for the pedestrian tunnel. On exiting the tunnel turn left onto Pilgrim Street and carry on for 0.1 miles onto Melbourne Street. After 0.2 miles continue onto Buxton Street and the hotel will be on your left.
