Great location and the hotel was clean , warm and the staff very friendly. The breakfast was delightful and I would stay again.
We ate in the hotel restaurant and were very impressed with the standard of the food service.
Very good hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Booked a single room which was great - had a double bed. Very conveniently placed - would recommend.
This was a surprise birthday trip for my mother. Prior to arriving Louise, from the hotel, contacted me concerning my special requests. She organised a wonderful birthday afternoon tea for Mum complete with decorated cakes and champagne bottle candles . A lovely touch. Why would you want to stay in a soulless "chain" hotel when you can feel completely at home and enjoy comfort, great customer service and a real desire to make someone`s stay special at The Castle Hotel. We met the owner Finn who was extremely welcoming and put himself out to stay and chat to us before going home to his own family. In all everyone looked after us admirably and reception also organised a night out to "Johnny Fox`s" which was the highlight of the trip for Mum. There is no doubt that we will stay in this character Georgian hotel again. To be highly recommended and experienced.
Good location at the top of O`Connell Street, with easy access to public transport. Room was clean and warm - single room, not huge nor particularly luxurious, but that`s not what I was looking for. Hot water sometimes a bit slow in making it all the way to the top floor, and a bit of road noise in the rush hour, but didn`t bother me - and what do you expect in a tall Georgian terrace in a central location. Reception staff helpful and friendly.
I booked this hotel for 11 guests for Thurs-Sat. Rooms were great with everything you need for a comfortable weekend break. Entertainment in the bar every evening with guests encouraged to join in - 11 blokes from Wales didnt stop singing!! Within easy walk of nice shops and bars. Staff were great with us all weekend and nothing too much trouble.
Had a great stay at The Castle Hotel to celebrate my daughters 21st Birthday, great 4 poster bedded room, very welcoming and helpful staff. Worth a visit if you want a traditional place to stay not too far from the main dublin attractions.
First class stayed in several hotels in Dublin but will return to this one, staff are very friendly. breakfast was excellent hot plentiful and service was first class, thanks to all the hard working staff that made this holiday.
We had a room on the ground floor and it was very noisy and hard to sleep
evreything was great except that our room opened out onto the back where there are tables for the bar outside. Due to the exceptional weather it meant that people were out drinking until 2.00am which was noisy. i appreciate this was not the hotels fault but still annoying when you are trying to sleep! staff were brilliant pleasent and really helpful thank you
We were impressed from the minute we arrived at the Castle hotel with the very friendly and helpful staff, breakfast was excellent and we wouldn`t hesitate to book again.
Breakfast chaotic, quality of tea not good, probably didn`t help that everyone came down at the last minute. Breakfast tables in the bar area not ideal.
Everything was wonderful. Beautiful, clean hotel, friendly staff and owner. The hotel was central also. The brealfast was delicious, dont fill up on the buffet there are items to order like a big Irish breakfast also.
Considering the amount our stay cost it was poor value for money. Quality of room wasn`t up to scratch. On the plus side, hotel staff friendly and accommodating
A cosy hotel with helpful staff and a great breakfast. However, due to a heatwave in Dublin, our room was incredibly hot - not the fault of the hotel, but it was difficult to get a breeze going! With the window open it was a bit noisy from the street.
Very friendly staff excellent entertainment
my wife jean and myself enjoyed our stay at CASTLE HOTELstaff were excellent and very helpfull I would reccomend it i [will go back again
Room was very hot even with the heating off. Needed to open the Windows which meant for a noisy night from the street!!
Quaint, clean, very central, to Dublin city centre and O`Connell street
We had a double room, which had just been painted, nice and clean and comfortable. The room was a bit cold because the heating wasn`t on all day but it was fine in the mornings and later at night. Breakfast was lovely - full Irish which was served incredibly quickly considering the hotel was full. The hot water was out on the last morning of our stay, but the staff were quick to get this sorted. We were given another room to shower in whilst the problem was fixed. The hotel was in a great location only 10/15 mins from the temple bars and restaurants.
A very nice hotel which has just been refurbished. In a good position in Dublin. Very clean and comfortable rooms and a good breakfast. All the staff very helpful. Excellent value for money.
Probably would have had `excellent` rating if it wasn`t for â?¬10per night parking. Very happy with everything else.
a decent hotel although there was a lot of noise from the room above, could hear every footstep. breakfast was perfectly ok, didnt try the restaurant or bar. Superb rate, £95 for two nights with breakfast! hotel has car parking albeit small which is a bonus, 10 euros a night which spoils the effect a bit. Why do dublin hotels insist on parking charges, it really annoys me. would stay there again, beautiful architecture, lovely old houses knocked together. Good location too, top of o`Connell st.Would defo stay again
GOOD CLEAN HOTEL,FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL STAFF,GOOD BREKFAST AND WELL SITUATED JUST OF O`CONNELL STREET
Hi,i was initially quite taken aback by the neglected appearance of the facade of the hotel,it turned out that i was trying to enter the hotel through the old entrance (quite confusing). On entering the hotel i was warmly greeted by 2 very friendly receptionists, who couldn`t have been more helpful. My room was spotless and a good size for the price.Coffee/tea well stocked etc.I loved the Vault bar and the breakfast choice was great after a night on the town. The hotel has a very quaint feel to it.As reluctant as i am to find any fault with this lovely/friendly hotel, its the confusion of the hotel rooms signs and the creaky stairs.Apart from these minor flaws my overall experience was positive, and would like to thank the friendly staff for a lovely stay...i`ll definitely book again.
My stay at the Castle Hotel was great. Peaceful and lovely atmosphere. Irish breakfast was amazing!
Staff very helpful and friendly
I enjoyed a one night stay in October 2012 and found the hotel to be comfortable, friendly and well located - just minutes from O`Connell Street. Excellent live entertainment in the bar with guests invited to sing a song!
Would stay at the same hotel again, and have no reservations in recommending to others. Ideally situated too, on the North side of the Liffie, about a 10 minute walk to the start of all the amenities.
A great location for inner city Dublin. After a long flight it easy to access by Airport bus Great meal in warm friendly surrounds Comfortable, clean room and bathroom and quiet. We will definitely return and recommend to others.
The food and service was very good. We would both be happy to go back.
great location only 10 min walk from busarus station and within walking distance to most of the main tourist attractions very pleasant and helpful staff 10 out of 10 for cleanliness great breakfast great price well done to the castle hotel we will see you again
We had booked a double room but were given 2 singles push together with 2 separate duvets. We were given another room which was nice but a disappointing start. Rooms are good but we felt the public areas of this hotel let it down. Breakfast tasted good but was very disorganised on all 3 mornings. Staff are covering 4 separate rooms with no apparent organisation at all and didn`t seem to want to catch your eye. In fact i would say the majority of staff were nice but would rather avoid your eye so they didn`t have to help. We liked the bar downstairs at night and decor was better here. Slightly too far from centre of Dublin for us.
Stayed in the castle hotel in late july for a few days, first impression was guests standing outside the main entrance door smoking we could not enter the hotel as they where in our way and had to push our way in. We arrived early and where allowed to use the luggage room for our cases, at check in we walked through dated rooms to find the lift, After travelling through many corridors with steps we eventually arrived at the room which was a reasonable size but again the decor was dated, the toilet was very noisy when the flush was pulled, breakfast in the morning not very good
