Excellent Indian rest on site

Very successful stay - my quibbles are so minor that they haven`t affected the `excellent` rating above. However, I have told the hotel that an £18.95 breakfast should offer quality fruit juice rather than the mediocre variety on offer - not necessarily fresh, but a good quality substitute! Also, though the food was excellent, it didn`t always contain the component parts shown on the menu - e.g. the cheeses on the cheeseboard and certain items on the otherwise first-class cold buffet differed from those advertised. However the (single) room was a delightful surprise, having the aforementioned shutters which really kept the light out in the morning and a proper bath rather than just a shower -many hotels seem to believe that a single traveller won`t want one.

This is the third time we have used the Strand Palace Hotel. It is just the right position for theatres, the river, and a good cente for circular walking, sightseeing and three minutes from Charing Cross Station. We think the rates are very good for the position in London and quality of service - very clean room, excellent food, and very friendly and helpful staff. Standard room very adequate for a short stay. We will stay there again.

Very helpful and pleasant staff thrughout. Small but perfectly adequate room. Pleasant room service meal. Overall cost reasonable for facilities (including inclusive wi-fi) but I would not want to pay more

For reasonably priced accommodation in the middle of London the Strand Palace is hard to beat.

The refreshment tray was not cleaned, nor refilled after our first night, so no clean mugs, or fresh milk for the following day.

The service from Check in to check out we found the hotel to be very good, The hotel amenities was very good the down side was we found the room on the small side, the bathroom was a joke as it was very narrow and small. sadly the bathroom let the hotel down,

This is the second time we have stayed at the hotel. This time we booked for 4 nights and the room we were designated was incredibly small (Room 849). I immediately called down to reception to ask for a room change and was advised the hotel was fully booked but that we could be accommodated the next day to a larger room. The move went very smoothly. One issue to note is that what appears to be room service staff seem to arrange all of their clearing in trays around the lift area and that adds to the noise levels. The staff are professional and attentive and the location is excellent. Something which may be helpful would be a room fridge and also a couple of hooks on the back of the bathroom door on which to hang towels.

AND HAD CAR BROKE INTO .... BEEN ADVISED NO CTV IN CAR PARK WHERE CARS PARKED . SEVERAL CARS DONE ON SAME NIGHT ...

We have stayed at this hotel on 3 previous occasions so we knew what to expect. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is very good. The lobby, bar and restaurants are all very plush and modern, albeit we have never eaten an evening meal in the hotel. The rooms however, are a little dated in my opinion, albeit they are clean and comfortable and have all the amenities you would expect. The main reason we stay at this hotel when we go to London is for the Location. It is within 20 minutes walk of most the main attractions in central London, Buckingham Palace 10 minutes walk away, Trafalgar square 2 minutes walk, Leicester square 5 mins walk, Covent Garden 2 mins walk, additionally it is only 2 minutes walk to a tube station. Overall this Hotel makes for a fantastic base if you are staying in London.

We enjoyed our stay with you very much. The hotel staff were very attentive and welcoming. We would have preferred a bath in the room and more choice of breads and fruit at breakfast - we don`t have the English breakfast. Anyway thenks for a good experience!

great position for central London visit, clean room, quiet, so good restful stay, breakfast very good. Therefore overall impression excellent, we will return.

Very warm welcome by reception staff. Allowed us into room early which really helped due to a show being booked as a Christmas present. Room nice clean and bed comfy. But due to being on the inside of the hotel over looking fans/AC for hotel poor sleep due to the noise as they ran ALL night

Nothing is too much trouble. All staff very friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone and am planning on returning soon. Thankyou for making the weekend special.

The bar facilities are good. The room was good. Cleanliness can be improved.

My room was tidy and clean, just the way I like it, I only ate breakfast in the hotel, and whilst it was adequate it was not outstanding, the staff were polite, and everything was well run. Would definitely stay again.

Conveniently situated for site seeing and theatreland, polite and helpful staff throughout hotel,clean and well maintained. Quality breakfast with plenty of choice.

we arrived 2 hours before check in and was allowed access to our room straight away as it was ready. All we expected was to be allowed to leave our luggage. Staff were helpful and happy. The room was clean, well presented and warm, almost too warm for me but very welcoming to my partner who feels the cold. House keeping was perfect with everything there we wanted for nothing. Literally next door to the Lyceum Theatre and just about all main London attractions within walking distance. Would highly recommend this hotel and would definately stay again.

Nice and comfortable

rooms were cold on arrival unable to close window in one of the rooms,breakfast staff cleared the table before we had finished our breakfast.apart from that we enjoyed our stay and would go back again.

I have known the Strand Palace for many years and it has evolved gently with the times. The Brasserie now an Indian Cuisine restaurant, a rather good little snack & coffee shop etc. The single rooms are excellent and not by the lifts or under the roof! The hotel provides a tranquil atmosphere in the rooms and the staff belong to the hotel rather than an agency, so there is a little bit of character. The only thing I would suggest as an improvement is the provision of a blanket (for those of us who can`t cope with the heat of duvets) without the need of having to ask - Polish staff don`t always understand what a blanket is! For theatre lovers and the West End the Strand is so in the right place - and within walking distance of Waterloo.

This hotel gives a good impression as you approach from the strand by foot or taxi. A friendly greeting at the door goes a long way. A good clean cut hotel with friendly staff eager to please. Excellent location

Had a very enjoyable stay. Hotel is well placed for the theatres and not far from the main shopping areas which are in walking distance. Would recommend the Indian food in the hotel restaurant. Only problem we encountered was breakfast the service was very poor. However the Hotel dealt with our complaint in a very professional manor. Drinks in the hotel are expensive but there are plenty of watering holes nearby. I would recommend the hotel and will be making another booking.

Took 20 min to book in with only me in the queue. Not blaming the reception staff as they were dealing with guests. It was the 2 managers standing around chatting and joking that annoyed me. The room was cold even with the rad turned up full. The bathroom was freezing. Take slippers for a night time toilet trip. Corridors were also very cold. Had a further wait for breakfast due to lack of tables. Basically you are paying for the name and London holiday inns or premier inns are much better. Am glad i was there just 1 night. Last note. Try to get a room on the 1st floor as lifts take a while at busy times.
