but to be fair reception did sort this out for us. on the whole a nice hotel and very central.
Had a really nice 2 night stay at the Radisson Edinburgh at the start of June. The staff were lovely, really helpful. Didn`t have any food at the hotel so cannot comment on that, nor did we use the pool as we didn`t have time! Only complaint was being woke by the maid at 8am on morning of checkout (when checkout isn`t until 12), then again at 10am to see if we had left. Really should have put out the `do not disturb sign`. All in all, brilliant stay and will definitely be back!
We would certainly stay there again.
I was treating my neice for her 21st Birthday celebrations and reception upgraded our room ; provided a cake and free glass of bubbly!! These extra touched really made our stay especially for an impoverished student!! Every aspect of the hotel was first class - we world definately recommend it. Linda & Rachael (Belfast)
Situated slap bang in the middle of the Royal Mile you cannot beat this hotel on location. Staff were really friendly and helpful without being pushy. We had a standard double room which was clean, tidy and quiet but if super picky could maybe do with a spruce up and maybe not quite 4* but was perfectly fine for a few days sight seeing and I would probably enquire about the turret rooms if it was a special occasion. Overall it was a great stay and wouldn`t think of staying anywhere else unless pushing the boat out with the Balmoral.
Very helpful staff on Reception and excellent location in Edinburgh`s Royal Mile - other than that very disappointing. Room decor `tired` and verging on grubby. Carpeting and seating stained.
Excellent hotel, couldn`t be better situated right on the royal mile. Beautiful, clean hotel, check in and departure staff brilliant. We paid slightly less per night on our previous visit to Edinburgh and stayed at a boutique hotel. This is well worth an extra few pounds.
Very friendly, helpful staff. Particularly Richard. Lovely hotel & fantastic location.
We enjoyed our stay at the Radisson Edinburgh. The rooms are very comfortable, and the staff on the Reception desk were welcoming and friendly. They readily accommodated our request for a room at the back of the hotel, and were very helpful - a good place to stay for a long weekend.
The bed was very hard and gave me back ache. There was a lot of noise on both nights around 10pm coming from the floor above. It lasted around 30 mins each night and sounded like tables and chairs being dragged along the floor. This is not acceptable when you pay premium money for a hotel room.
Where do the bathroom tiles come from
We were upgraded to a business class room but very disappointed with the large ink stain on the carpet as we entered our room. This gave a rather unsatisfactory first impression. I think our room number was 246. Would welcome your comments back to us on that. Thanks
Perfectly situated to reach all the tourist attractions Edinburgh has to offer, and easy access to public transport. The the rooms were spacious and clean. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone. The staff were very helpfull when directions were needed.
great hotel - the furnishings getting old and need refurbishing, but otherwise okay. Could give more milk teabags etc for the in-room refreshments however
Staff were very friendly, helpful and pleasant. Hotel spotless. Little bit noisy from the street outside in to early morning (Sat/Sunday) - we had booked 2 rooms and found on arrival that in one of the rooms the wardrobe doors were missing -hinges removed and painted over. Breakfast was excellent value for money. Car Park fees high - feel fees should have been waved for hotel residents.
It`s location is what makes it decent, and from outside it almost wins hands down for looks. But I found it to be very average. We had just a standard room. Not really any view to speak of. We used the lesuire pool and found it very basic, an quite small. Although it was a clean hotel, the expectation was much higher, given the caliber of the Radisson name. Definitely not worth the daily rate, even though it was valentines weekend.
would recommend to anyone
Everything was superb, both staff and room! Definetly be back again.
Great location. Helpful an polite staff. We even got an upgrade without asking. Service excellent. good food. Rooms comfy and clean. We had a really enjoyable stay. Would certainly go back.
We found the hotel to be clean, tidy, staff very helpful and located in an excellent area, we have no complaints what so ever.
Only one problem - coming back to the hotel at 4pm after a day out, to find the cleaner just starting to clean our room.
Staff efficient and friendly - room clean and comfortable - bar a bit pricey though
A lot of noise during the night from pubs and clubs around the hotel
will be making complaint in due course
The rooms very comfortable. A wonderful choice of food for breakfast . The reception area was very cold and we felt extremely sorry for the staff at reception. Thank you for a nice stay.
A Warm comfortable hotel with staff to match.
Staff very welcoming and helpful. Rooms perfectly adequate - but poor lighting possibly due to energy efficient bulbs! Facilities very good. Disappointing part as in previous visits was breakfast time. Waiting for dishes to be refilled and no supplies of clean glasses and plates.
Both for location and ambiance we would recommend this hotel to our friends
We had a very warm welcome and a very comfortable stay during the recent Edinburgh Festival. Many thanks and we shall certainly be coming to stay again at some point. Thanks again for a lovely time.
Superb hotel right in the heart of the old town. convenient for shopr, resaturants, the Palace of Holyrood and the Scottish Parliament. Easy carparking. courteous, helpful friendly staff. Comfortable rooms with views of the historic Royal Mile. Asolutely reccommend the Radisson Edinburgh.
Friendly, efficient and helpful staff. Effective sound insulation and blackout curtains made for a good nights sleep. Bathroom cramped and would be better as a shower room than shower over bath. Cracked sink and cheaply made surround highlights that it `s maybe time for a refit. Good location for tourists.
hotel was in an excellent location good food and facilities
