"good location friendly and helpful staff, meals incl: breakfast very good, room clean and comfortable"

My wife and i really enjoyed our stay at the Belvedere, the negative reviews i read on the internet were totally unfounded. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. We arrived early in the morning so obviously there were no rooms ready .No problem to the chap at reception our cases could be left safely while we went out for breakfast.Special thanks to the young man at reception ,when he found out it was our 40th anniversary, he booked us into a large quite room at the side of the hotel away from the main road, not that this road was noisy, but it was a nice consideration.Prices for meals &drinks were reasonable for Dublin [ expensive compared to my local club in Ayrshire],but having said that bar staff were very good and the chef produced fine meals, the choices and quantity available at breakfast were very good, just what was neede to set you up for a days sighseeing.thanks for a most enjoyable stay.

"basic centrally located hotel"

well situated for walking almost anywhere in Dublin. The hotel is basic but good for the price we paid. Could do with redecoration & some refurbishment. All staff were very friendly & helpful.

I would have no hesitation in recommending the Belvedere Hotel. This was my second time staying there and I will use it again when I visit Dublin. While the rooms are a little dated, they are roomy and have everything you need including tea and coffee making facilities. The Hotel is situated right next to O Connell street so youre next to everything. Perfect location.

"recommended"

This was the second time we have stayed at this hotel & even though the older section of the building could use a slight touch up here & there, overall our stay was first class. Staff are always pleasant & helpful & hotel is perfectly situated for all amenities. Will certainly book again. S. murray. Fife.

"Very good value for money"

I didn`t have any ideas about the hotels in Dublin. I chose this one as it was the cheapest one I could find that was still close enough to the centre. I cannot find fault with it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very quiet compared to some I have stayed in which is important to me as I am a light sleeper. It is located just off the main high street about 3-5 minute walk from the shops and bus stops for shopping and sight seeing. The rooms were clean and bright and included hand and bath shower gel, hairdryer and coffee/tea making facilities. Great.

"Good value for money"

We paid £75.00 for 2 nights. Room was fine, tea and coffee making facilities, tv. Bathroom fine, shower nice and hot. Hotel needs a lick of paint etc but considering what we paid it was great value for money. Only a 2 minute walk to O`Connell Street and the shops and bars etc.

"The reason for my dissapointment"

We booked and made a full payment for a twin room for two nights but when we went to the hotel the room, the space and the bathroom was quite not las shown in the images that was available online. The wall papers were peeling the carpet was all frayed. However, we complained to the reception who told us that they were sorry but was not able to give us another room untill the following night.

"Perfect for our needs"

We didn`t spend much time at the hotel as we crammed as much as we could into our three day stay. However the hotel provided us with a great base to facilitate our trip due to it`s convenient location for tourism. With friendly staff and clean accommodation we couldn`t have asked for more, good value for money and a return is certainly a possibility

"Generally very good value (you get what you pay for!)"

Lots of noise from bar/hotel across the street on Sunday till late- suggest you bring earplugs! Not most comfortable beds/pillows either but all in all v good value at £95 for 3 nights, would recommend for cheap break in a pricey city!

"staff friendly but had some problems"

i only stayed 2 nights and although the staff were friendly, i was disappointed with some aspects of the room. Our television never worked from the start, and after being out all day, when we arrived back the tv was removed with just a space on the wall where it once was! not acceptable in these days of increased competition

"Mid Week break at ur hotel"

We all enjoyed our stay at your hotel, the only complaint I would have is that the bathroom door in room 201 needs some oiling as it squeaks and wakes you up if someone uses the loo. The rest of the room was comfortable. I would definately recommend it to family and friends when the visit Dublin.

"Great Dublin base"

We stayed in as just a base as we spent most of our time out and about seeing the sights. Is perfectly fine and the rooms are spacious. Close to buses, shops and the quays. Temples bar is only about 10 mins walk and the Guinness factory is walkable from the hotel (although probably not advisable if you want to save your feet). Overall enjoyable stay!

"Nice place, shame about noise and niggles"

The staff and hotel were nice and welcoming, but the rooms all face a main road which is quite noise at night. It would also be nice if the wireless Internet was extended to the rooms, not just the lobby! The staff also seemed to open the window in our room each time they cleaned it and left it open all day - seems like a bit of a security risk to me.

"Superb location, Clean rooms, great service."

Couldn`t have picked a better location for the price. Rooms were spacious and clean. Had one problem with having no hot water, which was dealt with efficiently. Food was great, buffet breakfast 8 euro. Downsides, when we stopped there were alot of visiting students, who took over the place, and always liked standing right outside the hotel main door, to smoke... Overall, would defo reccomend, and visit again. Happy travelling. Thnx Niamh and Heinie

"Good stay except on the last night."

Good location, 10 - 15 min from Temple bar. Hotel clean and quiet ( however sink in the room was hardly draining). Stayed on the last floor and room was too hot, had to sleep with window open ( april) which meant that you could hear the noise in the street ( pretty quiet except when car alarm on). However on the last night, the heat was really unconfortable despite heater off, the pipe to them was very hot and no way to switch it off. when reception advised of this issue, they weren`t helpfull and could only suggest to have the window open. Breakfast good and loads of choice.

"V.reasonable (price, content, standard) hotel in good proximity to all worth seeing in Dublin city"

Really friendly staff who were very accommodating to the needs of me .& my young daughter who were holidaying alone. Upgrade of room to give us something bigger for our 4 day stay was extremely welcome. Bar felt friendly & unintimidating for us on our own & live music on Fri & Sat nights was an added bonus. Room was very clean & domestic staff extremely friendly. Would definitely stay here again, if nothing else than for it`s great value for money.

"Distinctly Average"

An absolute basic hotel. It was somewhere to sleep and freshen up but you really wouldn`t want to spend any longer here than you had to. No service to speak of. It`s a good job we had a good deal because it certainly wasn`t work paying more than we did. The whole place was very tidy and tatty to say the least.
