On booking at the desk i was told that I would have a pay a£50 deposit for the mini-bar. I was not warned regarding this. Also, there was no mini-bar - so why was my money taken. At breakfast - I enquired if there was any hot food and was told quite rudely that there was not and that I should know this. The lady (long dark hair with dangly earrings) was really quite rude.
We have stayed at the Mandeville a few times - we love the location and the staff are extremely friendly. Continental breakfast is basic, but adequate. On this occasion though, we didn`t find the room as fresh as it`s been in the past. Also, the lack of kettle in the room is a disadvantage. Yet, we wouldn`t be against returning - perhaps though, we will now look at alternative accommodation for our next trip in London.
Deluxe room was surprisingly small. Nonetheless, staff were helpful and friendly at all times.
An excellent hotel in the heart of London. The room was beautiful and tres chic with luxury items of toiletries and well maintained room service and bathroom. All staff were very friendly and helpful especially the concierge who went out of his way to make our stay memorable. Best hotel ever.
Rooms very clean and confortable. Hotel well situated for oxford street shopping. And within walking distance of Piccadilly Circus.
Hotel is situated in a central location for the west end. Staff couldn`t do enough for you. Bedroom, although not the largest, was very comfortable and well appointed. Bed and pillows great and had a very comfortable and restful nights sleep
Fab hotel, great location. Lady at check in could of been a bit more friendly and little less cocky!
Our room was quite cold but other than that it was clean and quiet
GOOD CLEAN HOTEL. pLEASANT STAY. HOTEL RECEPTIONIST WAS NOT PARTICULARLY FRIENDLY. I WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN.
Upon arrival we were told that due to the hotel being overbooked we would have to be upgraded to a top floor suite. The room was brilliant. Clean, spacious and with everything you could possibly need. Staff were warm, friendly and went out of their way to help you as soon as they saw you. Worth every penny.
Not as good as our previous stay. We were allocated a basic room which was at the rar of the hotel. The lift did not function properly. The wating staff at breakfast did appear to be more interested in the kitchen than attending to guests. We had to ask for toast on both mornings. The coffee was on the cold side. One afternoon we wished to have a hot drink. We could not find a member of staff easily as the bar servery was unattended. The assistant was not very polite when we requested a menu. We will definately not be returning. This was a special return visit to celebrate our 1st wedding aniiversary, as this was the first hotel we stayed in as a couple after meeting 6 years ago. Certainly not the same feeling about it now.
We enjoyed our stay at the Mandeville and found it to be good value for money. We would however have enjoyed Tea making facilities in our room, which incidentally, was on the cool side. That said, we will certainly return to the Mandeville on our next visit to London.
Stayed at this hotel last weekend. The service was excellent and we were very pleased with our room. We particularly enjoyed the meal that we had in the hotels` restaurant, it was the best meal had had for a long time. The location could not have been better, very central and close to Bond St tube, excellent shopping and the Wallace Collection. Would recommend.
We had a very enjoyable stay at the Mandeville. The hotel is beautifully decorated, the room we had was quiet and had everything necessary. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the concierges (Richard in particular). Altogether a very pleasant stay and we hope to stay there again.
Lovely welcome and excellent service throughout. Presentation of public rooms , reception and dining room excellent. Delicious breakfast again with first rate personal service.A bit disappointed with room, no. 310, which had a poor outlook and presumably service areas below, which were very noisy both in the late evening and early Sunday morning. The room was also rather cramped , and the bed positioned against a wall which was a little inconvenient. Also the bathroom mixer tap did not have any hot water although we left it to run for aome time. The shower drain was also slow to drain resulting in a mass of surface water spreading over the bathroom floor after a short shower.. The bath mat was replaced, however, when we were out during the evening and the room was being "turned down".I would certainly stay again but would check that our room was an improvement on the one we had.
Hotel is off the main road and quiet, yet, well-placed for all amenities - shops, restaurants, museums/galleries and theatres. Bond Street Underground Station is less than 5 minutes walk away. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Room was clean and well-equipped although I would have welcomed tea and coffee making facilities.
The hotel is smart, comfortable and convenient for Oxford Street. Our room was very well presented and welcoming and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I would hope to stay there again in the future.
not happy regarding the hotel i booked the mandeville because thats where i wanted to stay . when had parked my car and gone to the hotel we were then informed that they were over booked and that we were booked in at a different hotel in mayfair. But i didnt like the hotel as much also they had under ground parking so could of park there instead of paying 35pound overnight parking elsewhere . i booked this break well inadvance so i believe i could of been informed in advance. And all anyone could say too me was that next time i can have a room upgrade well thats no good to me it is only very rarely that we would stay away as we have just had a baby hence the reason i book a weekend away for a surprize for my wife .It didnt leave a very good taste at all was not impress at all.
The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable.
Room very well decorated and set out. Nice bathroom and toiletries. Only criticisms were TV too small for room - could not really see picture and mini bar very expensive - £3.50 for a small water!!
We are return visitors to the hotel and again we had a very pleasant experience. The welcome was friendly not just from reception bu all staff we met. Room (upgraded) very good size and facilities. Bathroom however was congested with toilet squeezed into a corner and washbasin too high and wide for easy use. Bed large and very comfortable. Breakfast (continental) good with (as always) excellent orange juice! Location is perfect for Bond St tube station, the Wallace Collection, Wigmore Hall, Oxford St etc.
I was upgraded to a superior room but that came with a massive bathroom suitable for a disabled person, walk in shower but the tiniest lowest basin I have ever seen, you could wash you hands but to shave in meant water everywhere. The breakfast service was poor no indication of what the procedure was. i was asked about tea or coffee but that was it. Another guest said he had never seen so many waiters rushing about doing nothing and I had to agree.
Tiny corner room on next to a building site!!!
Top class hotel, very clean spacious rooms, one room was upgraded on arrival to a Penthouse Suite for my Mum and Dad as it was Dads 70th Birthday. Stafff friendly couldnt do enough for us. Would definately stay at this hotel again when booking for London weekend again, as best hotel we have been to. Thank you for making this booking special for us, lady very helpful and friendly when I phoned through and booked with you, will be making next booking with you in the near future. Thank you once again X
Over all very good, but our room was quite small and very cold and the staff at breakfast were not pleasant. The hotel is stylish with good choice of foods, drinks and services. The reception, bar staff and cleaners were lovely people.
A very enjoyable stay. However we did find the room quite cool especially the bathroom. We were given an extra heater which did help. Staff very helpful and obliging. will return.
