Short stay of 2 nights in a perfect location for people who want to explore Dublin aswell as been in walking distance of the temple bar area. The hotel had all needs catered for including honest food, drink and entertainment.
Good location, friendly helpful staff. Worthy of special mention is the top quality breakfast and staff who were superb!!
This is a stag party review. This hotel is perfect. Excellent location, rooms are clean, staff are friendly and breakfast is good. Bathrooms in the rooms could do with a bit of a refurb and the shower had no pressure (no big deal). Excellent bar/restaurant connected to the hotel for you to start your day and not even a 5 minute walk to temple bar area. I would recommend this hotel even for non-stag parties as the night security was very good I there was never any trouble, may be a little noisy until the bar next door closes depending on your room location.
My wife and I only stayed fro two nights for her birthday, we both wish we`d stayed for longer. Everyone was really friendly and helpful, the food was good and the evening entertainment was excellent. Thank you every body.
It was a lovely hotel but was very basic. It was over priced based on the facility and services they provided.
Located just over O`Connell Bridge on the Liffy the hotel was easy to find and get to/from the city centre. Clean and pleasant staff who were helpful. Good free wifi signal and speed. TV could have been a bit bigger in addition to wall brackets that could allow for the TV position to be adjusted. Was on the 2nd floor so did hear some of the evening`s activities regarding live music but did not interrupt sleep. Lift was close to room so heard it every time it arrived at my floor and vending machine in hall was just outside my room, so could hear other guests purchasing items. In general good and would stay there again.
Nice hotel, excellent entertainment, quiet rooms. Excellent placement in heart of dublin.
Excellent location. Good choice at breakfast. King size bed very comfortable. Would stay here again.
We really enjoyed our stag at the Arlington, the Hotel is perfectly positioned for everything , the staff were all very pleasant and attentive, the rooms were clean and spacious and the food and drink were excellent, I would recommend this Hotel to anyone of any age who wants to get the real feel of Dublin
Clean hotel, staff lovely helpful and friendly very good value for money
The bar and evening entertainment are excellent. Perfect for a large group of friends.
lots to do and see, a must is the Galic night which is held every night, it does include singing and dancing the Irish way.
The hotel looked good from the outside and foyer, and even the room on first glance. However, my boyfriend and I spent sleepless nights trying to find ways of cooling ourselves down with a room that had no fan, air con or sufficient window. It was also a very warm floor, even the corridor was hot. The shower left no room to move and actually shower, was awkward and difficult. An to finish it off I have bed bug bites all down my arms. Would never stay again.
Only downside was the fact that it was difficult to get to sleep because of the extremely loud music in the bar! Guests should be warned of this, and asked if this would be a problem. If so, they should be allocated a quiet room (if there is one!).
Room was very stuffy as you can`t really open the windows although staff did help by giving us a fan. It was still really hot and uncomfortable in the room. The hotel is also extremely noisy especially on weekends, as it`s above a backpackers and the hotels restaurant on the ground floor has a party till 2.30am.
room 301 was good except the extractor fan in bathroom didn`t work and the small tv was in the worst viewing position in any hotel i`ve ever been in
Good clean room, let down by size of towels in bathroom (too small to to be called bath towels). Hair dryer was awkward to use. Very few rooms have a view
No complaints at all. Handy for all the places I wanted to visit, comfortable and clean. Enjoyed a hearty breakfast before we left. For the price, virtually faultless and I`ll probably return there next time I visit Dublin (already started planning it).
Perfect location for Dublin sight seeing. Very reasonably priced, with free wi-fi. Hotel is very old and full of character with a lively bar area downstairs. Excellent staff and cleanliness. Will defiantly come back. Steve and Orysia
I booked a disabled room through hoteldirect who confirmed availability with the hotel. On arrival, I was told no disabled room had been booked and was offered a large room with four beds instead. As my main need was for an accessible bathroom this was a poor substitute. I was obliged to use the public toilet but had to wait 10 minutes while various people hunted for the key. Hotel room was clean but tired. It is near shops and restaurants and adequate for a one night stay. Bonus of having a pub on site. We arrived too late to sample the food in the restaurant but it seemed popular.
We booked for 17 people to celebrate my 40th birthday and everything went smoothly. The rooms were clean and the staff were excellent. Thanks for everything.
Stayed here for two nights, rooms were clean & tidy, staff very friendly, nothing too much trouble, had well presented tasty food on first night in bar. had the 3 course & entertain in basement bar on second night, well worth the 33 euro, just across bridge from temple bar area, plus more bars, shops & restaurants, bus stop right out side, recommend the hop on hop off green bus, would definately stay here again
stayed here for two nights and it was great, right in the centre of everything, ideal location ,
Well worth the money
Staff very friendly/helpful generally and in storing luggage before check in time. The shower was not working but staff advised this would be fixed. It would have been useful to have face clothes and more tea/milk.and some biscuits in the room. Found the eating/entertainment areas quite dark and singing/music loud but otherwise enjoyed our stay.
The hotel was one the friendliest hotels I`ve ever stayed at. The staff were excellent and couldn`t do enough. The one downside was the size of the rooms, smaller than normal with the small double bed up against the wall. Other than that a perfect hotel for a lively stay in Dublin.
Third time at this hotel. It has entertainment all weekend. And situated at half penny bridge.not far to walk for other bars. Temple bar is 5mins away. Staff r really helpful and friendly.
Lovely hotel; really friendly, helpful staff. Can`t beat this hotel for its location. Grafton Street shopping, St. Stephen`s Green mall & Temple Bar pubs/nightlife only minutes away.
Didn`t get any sleep on the 2nd night due to people, cars and wagons using the back street outside. The kitchen also was a little smelly.
Excellent position for all attractions especially Temple Bar & O`Connell Street. Bar & live music excellent. Hotel tired and dated but clean rooms and comfy bed ! Wot more do you need ? Didn`t have breakfast there because it wasn`t the cheapest and there is a million places nearby to have what you want when you want ! All in all wouldn`t hesitate in booking there again !
Booked this hotel due to its central location, and car park. Unfortunately the staff were very unhelpful upon arrival, the car park was full (and apparently always is?!?) and the brief (stroppy) directions I was given by the very unfriendly girl on reception did not include the correct location of an alternative car park, nor the fact that there is a one way system to negotiate. The room was clean and adequate, but, was let down by the reception area, and the stair well that was like a laundrette, with damp bedding, and pillows etc scattered all down it. Also, check in is at 3pm, not 2 as stated... It was worth the £90 that I paid, but ONLY because of the central location. I think next time I will stay a bit further out of town, in a nicer, newer place, and get the tram back in to town.
