"superior" Room had broken window glass, stain on floor. Service ranged from removing plates before we had finished eating, to being completely ignored (+still waiting on morning paper). Staff response to no mains water was indifferent to cheeky for our request for more than 750ml of water. Breakfast buffet was poor, coffee weak and cold from thermos. Overpriced tourist trap. Avoid.
We booked an exeuctive room in the Hotel and felt assured that we would have a lovely room when we arrived at the hotel. The room we were first offered was so dark you needed the light on at all times, it smelled musty, overall it was terrible. The staff however were friendly and did try to help us. Maybe if you booked a 2 star hotel you would expect this standard but a 4 star rating for this hotel is so far off the mark. We were offered two other rooms of this standard when we complained but would stay in neither so we paid an extra 30.00 per night to be upgraded. This room was more exceptable but not good either, not 4 star. The bathroom door from the bedroom was clear glass and did not close, all in all it was very disappointing and i would never use this hotel again.
on getting to hotel was given room like oven inside tried to turn down heating couldnt man sent up opened window turned off even with window open alnight really hot this was not helped that by having window open really noisy as air con unit right outside our window and view a brick wall l did this as a birthday present and when we come to london we use a chain of hotels always excellent but husband wanted to stay here.
We were very pleased with our room, which was more spacious than we imagined from looking at photos on the website. Everything was very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, but there was some confusion among the staff about paying - they tried to charge us again for breakfast when we had already pre-paid. Apart from that though, we were very happy with the facilities and services provided.
all fairly average but there was no running water on the second morning. I have never encountered this before
Reception staff excellent; most comfortable bed ever; room had everything we required (nicely furnished); location great. Only let down was in bar lounge where we never seemed to get what we had ordered first time.
While the stay wasnt awful - there were many more problems than I normally have in hotels that I dont pay as much for. We were not given the room standard we had booked, we were put in a smelly smoking room, we were given twin beds, not a double and there were none of the promised ammenities in the room (probably due to not being given the right room standard!) The room was also tiny. They began recycling glass bottles right outside our window at 7.30 (on a Saturday!) and housekeeping knocked on the door at 8.20!! Not very impressed at all. Nice bathroom and lovely croissants at breakfast were the only real positives of the stay. Not the worst hotel I`ve stayed in, but given that you can stay in the WONDERFUL Apex City of London Hotel for LESS money, I am shocked at the standard!
We had a really enjoyable meal and thought the quality of the food and the service was excellent. Our executive room was however disappointing: a complimentary bottle of wine was in fact 2 small bottles one cheap red and the other a white chardonnay.Needless to say both remained untouched. The molton brown products were a tiny bottle of hair conditioner and mouthwash. The room was a bit tired and the bed was smaller and less comfortable than in any other hotel we have stayed in. Nice staff.Great location.
Clean hotel with very friendly, helpful staff.I will definitely stay again.
a lovely small boutiqu hotel. Breakfast was a suprise being a bit more than a continental breakfast. Cocktails at the bar were excilent. Bedroom was nice but was confussed with only one bath robe for a twin room. I recomend that there are some instructions on how to use the shower, never did quit work out why there were two showerheads and how to use them both. Also found it a bit frustrating using the lifts in the mornings with not be able to get in due to housekeeping staff and laundry. On one occasion we waited so long we used the stairs. However non of these things did spoil stay we have a lovel time and I would recomend the hotel to all my friends and family. Thank you.
the hotel was top class all staff were very curtious and helpful which made our stay very enjoyable,we will not hesitate to go back again in the near future thankyou to all the staff.
very clean, comfortable and smart, great location with lots of pubs and restaurants nearby
Room not ready at 4pm. Told it was ready cleaners in room. Not a great start. Ordered drinks in bar they needed a reminder. Spoke to hotel manager and received bottle of champagne. After that everything was a lot better..
Booked 2 twin rooms - hotel had overbooked twin rooms and we had to share 2 double rooms. We were offered separate linen however they offered no compensation for this inconvenience - we did ask what was on offer however there was no offer forthcoming! Location was ideal for our purpose well positioned between Regents Park and Hyde Park. Marleybone High Street and the small streets nearby were full of nice little bouriques and eateries.
Room was below average for what we expected of this star rating hotel. Bathroom cleanliness was below average. Front Desk Reception was very slow and in our opinion under staffed. The staff who were on duty were very friendly and helpful but there should have been more of them!
Staff were friendly and the location was perfect for us. Room nice and quiet which is appreciated given the central location. We stayed 2 nights and were enticed by the gym and sauna facilities. There was no air-con in the gym and the TV didn`t work. It meant you had to run looking at a wall a couple of feet in front. Also the treadmill kept cutting out! I would suggest having more pillows available in the room to improve comfort.
Very pleased with this hotel, the staff were friendly, the location was ideal, the food was excellent.
Hotel beautifully kept, stylish and very polite staff, accomodation wonderful, only had 1 issue very minor, room mini bar short on items.
Stayed here for one night while visiting the theatre. The hotel is very smart with modern decor. The room was very clean and comfortable with an adequately sized bathroom. Easy access to Baker Street tube and only three stops from the West End. Only critisism was the speed of the service in the bar after we got back from our night out. Had to wait 10 minutes to get a drink even though it wasn`t busy at all.
When we complained about our room we were moved to an even smaller room . The staff were very unfriendly to us after we asked to be moved. Would not recomend this hotel to any of my friends or family.
Everything was perfect apart from the room was extremely warm during the night and the air-con didn`t seem to do enough to cool the place down. Apart from that, perfect.
when will hotels realise that when you pay full price you expect the best room available for that price on the day. Having paid £180 a month in advance, that rate gave an exec room and breakfast on the day, but I as offered only a standard room - until I complained. I shouldn`t have had to. It is a nice hotel and a good location, a bit more thought by the staff makes a big difference.
Rooms very small but clean. No robes in bedrooms. No tea & coffee making facilities. Rubbish shower.
the only major problem is with the bathroom, i think a non slip mat is needed in the bath to use when showering, my partner slipped while getting out of the shower as the bottom of the bath was very slippery, despite being very careful when getting out. It `clearly an area that needs to be addressed while a risk assessments are to limit any injury to the user and if possible elmininate the risk this clearly has been thought about and you are laying yourselves open to a law suit of personal injury. Thankfully this is not the case here for you as I only pulled a muscle !!!
friendly staff, good location, room ok, shower door was broken wouldnt slide across very easily. was woken by room service at half 8 even tho we were checking out at 12. but for one night it was fine.
we was asked if we wanted to upgrade for extra money as i had booked it for valantines day i agreed as my girlfriend was standing right next to me i had no choice. it took three rooms before we got a nice room there is no car parking it costs £25 per day to park we was in room 405 it was very hot so we had water out our bar £2.50 i think thats why they has the heating up so high so you used the mini bar. overall the hotel was nice but could have been treated better. it would have been nice to have some flowers in the room but you problebly had to pay for them. it was our first trip to london and it cost me in total £400 so will not be doing it to often.
Beautifully presented hotel, lovely room, friendly and very efficient service. However, everything was an "extra" charge. I travel the world and stay in many fine hotels, and few of them charge an added £16.50 for breakfast AND THEN ADD A SERVCE CHARGE TO THIS. I find it insulting when I am not given the option of wether to tip or not, particularly at breakfast. The same goes for charging for a newspaper. While the amount is minimal, I would have thought a fine hotel such as yours would give them free. It feels underhand and sneaky, and cheapens the hotel. I`d rather you increased your price by £20-£30, and made it a comprehensive price.
