The accommodation was of a good standard and we thought the location was excellant. We really didnt have any criticism of our experience. Thank you very much. We would certainly stay again.
Room very spacious and clean. Staff friendly although Concierge could have been a little more clued up when it came to giving route instructions. Also told us no tube station nearby, when there was one right on the doorstep.
Our room was in itself was very nice,however.....................our only complaint would be about the bathroom which we did`nt find to be very roomy. There was not enough space between the bath and towel rail, barely enough to turn around, and the sink was not a full size one, more like HALF a sink. This would actually stop me booking with the Russel Hotel in the future.
Grand, well appointed, warm service, good value, just the job!
We very much enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We got a room upgrade and were very pleased with all aspects of the room and bathroom. The noise level from outside was almost non-existent due to the triple glazing even though the room overlooked the main road which carried lots of Ambulances with sirens going full blast! The Breakfast were also excellent with good hot food (and hot plates) from the buffet. The only evening meal we had was quite superb and the staff were excellent. Thank you
Overall vey good hotel but the view from our room which was air condition units not good as these were very lound so unable to open window so put air condition on to cool room down but unable to sleep with this runnung as this is too loud would have been nice to have been told about the view
Would have expected the cost of the room to include wi fi at no extra charge.
The Hotel was very impressive as you approach. It is a comfortable distance from Euston and opposite a peaceful park with a fountain and cafe. The blossom was out and the sky was blue. You could imagine it in times gone by and the elegance of the surroundings was not lost on us. The hotel has been lovingly and sympathetically restored. The staff are very customer focussed and friendly without being over familiar .The decor and the surroundings became part of our break as they were elegant and the history of the building was very interesting you feel the history. There were all the modern comforts that you could wish for and the iron and board in the room was very welcome . A great place for a special break . It was our first without our son ever (he is 18) so it was special as well as being my husbands 60th birthday.
Hello, it is overall a good hotel to sleep - clean and all, but not many ammenities, and room a bit small, and you need to pay extra for everything - if you want a room with a view to the Square, Internet (15 punds per day, I know, amazing right?! - not even complimentary in the lobby), breakfast (they offer right at checkin), late checkout (10 pounds per hour)
Very small room Poor condition Carpets very old and dusty TV was not working £180 / night without breakfast is very excessive for the room Better rooms available in near by hotels Although I have stayed in this hotel before but due to poor mantainence will not recommend
This was my 3rd stay at the Russell in the last 6 months and it will be my first choice for a London stay,as long as I can find a reasonably priced room. The staff are polite and give the impression of liking to work there. Clean, comfortable rooms, with luck you can even get one looking out onto Russell Square. Perfect location for all the hot London spots. Recommended without hesitation.
My young son and I stayed two nights at The Russell, the hotel was clean and staff helpful and friendly. The twin room was too small as the two beds were actually placed together but made separately; fine for our needs but not perhaps if I`d been sharing with a friend. For this reason I may not return.
We found the care and attention to detail by the staff excellent. After a 23hr flight it was lovely to be welcomed so warmly.
Hotel Russell is an ideal location for a city break. Staff are nothing but helpful and the building is a work of art. Will be definitely staying here again in the future.
Comfortable, well appointed bedrooms, pleasant and helpful staff.
Lovely front desk welcome and very comfortable rooms.Good food and service in the dining room.
Easy to check in, room was clean and comfortable and the location was great for open top bus tour and accessible to all the top attractions
Very friendly, helpful staff from receptionists to concierge and cleaners
Room lovely. Hotel very grand. Disappointing restricted dinner menu. A lot less to choose from than detailed on website.
we thorougly enjoyed our stay albeit for one night.THE WETROOM WAS H We thoroughly enjoyed our stay albeit for one night. The room was perfect, the wet room was huge. Breakfast was wonderful. Saff were charming and helpful, special thank-you to Carey for pushing me around the back quarters! Will certainly return.
In a hotel of that standing I would expect to have free WiFi and a small bottle of water in my room. I arrived late in the evening after an international flight and felt that £4.50 for water and £15 for internet access was rather unwelcoming if not a little mean.
Had a great night at the theatre, and a casual walk back to this stunning hotel. Highly recommend as Covent Garden, The Strand, Oxford St, are all a short walk away. A great location, with tube and railway stations close by. Hotel it`s self is very nice, room was of a good size and very comfortable.
Bedroom not really to standard as size ver small and bath plug etc broken and not functioning as should do. I ran a bath and to add cool water I had to physically place my hand & arm into the boiling water. We also had no secure chain etc to secure our main door. Only 2 staff on placement when vacating the hotel. Queue was quite long......
Room, wallpaper peeling from walls, pubic hair on the bathroom? floor. window fixed with a piece of wood. Breakfast, better going for the cold buffet as this is the same temperature as the hot full English. Reception ask as soon as you arrive if you would like to upgrade before you see the room. Would we stay there again? Is there any need to answer that!
The hotel is very convenient for the underground and St Pancras International, staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and the room was large comfortable and clean. Full breakfast in our room was great before our onward journey and makes a change from only being offered continental. We would stay again.
The Hotel has a good location for city visitors. Some nice period features in the hotel but a little dated and showing signs of wear. Standard rooms are warm comfortable but a little small compared with other areas of the Hotel. Service was generally good and staff polite and efficient. We did have an issue with the water supply in our room which wasn`t resolved during our stay. We did get a good deal with Hotel Direct and therefore it represents good value for money. However, we would reconsider if only standard room price was available.
Really nice buffet breakfast and excellent service will definately re-book in the near future. :0)
My wife and I had booked a room at the Russell Hotel in London through Hoteldirect, with a long period of notice ie: 2 months and just before we were due to go to london,I received a call from Hoteldirect duly informing me that the Russell hotel was over booked and that we would have to move to alternative hotel. At this point I unfortunately took the advise of the professionals at Hoteldirect and unwittingly found ourselves in nothing more than an a bad travelodge and at the check in I was also aware that other hoteldirect clients had also been palm off to this same hotel. I complained to the hotel management about the sub standard room and was finally moved to what can only be considered a slightly better room at the front of the building. I personly will not use Hoteldirect again as the hotel that we were offered was not up to the standards that I was lead to believe . Be warned!!!
The staff were very friendly and helpful The room was beautiful Breakfast was a little chaotic on the first morning and therefore I requested room service which was excellent
Good standard hotel centrally located easy walking distance to Oxford Street, Covent Garden and Leicester Square.
Friendly helpful staff, comfortable clean room, convenient location. Would recommend.
Have stayed with you before and hope to be back
