The Mandeville is a very modern, very swish hotel. Service is very good, location is excellent. However, there are a couple of things that could be improved. The lack of tea and coffee facilities in rooms is baffling to every guest - it should be standard in a hotel of this class. The rooms are also on the small side. Also the disabled facilities are hit and miss. The disabled room itself was adequate, but the restaurant (where breakfast is also served) has four steps leading to it with no wheelchair ramp. This seems to be a very basic flaw in a hotel which obviously tries to cater for disabled guests.
nice hotel, quiet when we visited in march, rooms on the small side and were a bit cold, nice cafes beside it
Nice art deco design, but very small rooms (we stayed in room no. 403), so i wouldnt recommend for a longer stay. The windows are very bad isolated windows (noisy and cold) and the blankets were too thin (just a woolen blanket with a sheet). Its a good location to go to Oxford street and on the left the Marylebone High Street with sweet little shops.
We went to London for my Husband`s 60th. The hotel provided a very professional and friendly ambience from the moment we walked in to the time we left. The breakfast choice was good and the standard of service and attentiveness of a very high standard. What makes a real differnce in this hotel is the very high professional standards of the staff. the reception staff, concierge, bar staff and restaurant staff work to very high standards and nothing was too much trouble. We loved the bar area which somehow managed to balance a real London feel with the friendliness of a local pub. We would have no hestiation about returning. Thank you.
Very comfortable quiet room, marvellous bed and good shower. What more do I need when away from home?!
Location of hotel difficult initially on leaving the Undergound.Lift access/breakdowns frustrating in the hotel leading to delay.
The staff were very helpful and our room was lovely. Great location too. Would definitely go back.
This was the second time of staying at this Hotel, staff are friendly, service good, good restaurant, altogether great value for money. Highly recommended.
Staff were very polite and helpful. Nice modern boutique feel to the hotel. Lovely bar area, only problem was that is was rather expensive. Would have definitely spent more time and money in there if it was cheaper. Overall though, a fantastic hotel in a brilliant location for making the most of London
My room (Standard Double) on the 2nd floor was more than adequate in size for 2 people, comfortable and very clean. Staff were extremely attentive. No coffee making facilities in room (I brought travel kettle), but would definitely stay here again.
The hotel is great althought he lifts are a nightmare very slow!
some cocktails too expensive
Room a little small (last time was better) but still well appointed, clean, quiet and adequate with good bathroom and comfortable bed. No tea/coffee. Breakfast good with excellent fresh orange. Staff friendly and attentive.
i really wanted to compliment hotel direct for the great rates they offer . dont know how you do it, but keep it up.
friendly staff, lovley atmosphere, comfy bed and great location but maybe need a bank loan for the bar bill!! overall a wicked experience
An excellent hotel, , i was a female travelling alone and i felt completely welcome staying from 21st to 23rd Jan 09. I stayed in a Delux room, which was worth the extra money. The only down side is there is no tea or coffee in the room. It can be ordered via room service at £3.50 a pot. The hotel is very close to Oxford street just a couple of minutes walk. I would stay at the hotel again, it was an exteremly pleasant stay
The hotel was perfect in terms of location for shopping. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and comfortable. It was nicely decorated with a very nice bathroom. The only downside was that the bar prices seemed to be very expensive. One vodka and lemonade and a bottle of beer came to approx £17 (inc service charge). Other than that it was definitely a hotel I would stay in again and recommend.
in lovely Marylebone-Village just 50 mtrs from Oxford Street we loved the stay
Have placed longer review on tripadvisor. But basically room etc was fine. The problems are with the bar facilities, it was hopeless and very unfriendly New Years Eve, you were not allowed to sit in quieter seats with a drink, a burly bouncer made sure of this! But New Year Day Evening, the bar was closed and they refused to serve us a drink at all, they said it is against the law to drink alcohol on new years day!!Ridiculous rules, you were not allowed to sit and have drink in quiet seats by reception, only allowed to have glass water from room service! Silly rules spoilt our stay. Area was great in day St Christophers Place, nice bars and restaurants, but all except one closed on N.Y.Eve and ALL of them closed on N.Y. day evening, we had to sit in our hotel bedroom and pay the ridiculous mini bar prices. Breakfast was ok, but didn`t feel welcome there either and a waiter completely ignored our request. A total waste of a lot of money and very disappointing.
The only thing I would comment on is that our Room was number 805 and had a continual smell of cooked food. It was not just in the room but also in the corridor, I can only assume that our room was close to an air duct/extractor fan from the Kitchen. It was quite unbearable to begin with but eventually we just became used to it. We were only staying for one night, if we have been staying any longer I would have asked to be moved.
We really enjoyed out stay at the Mandeville. The location was ideal for both shopping and being near to the nightlife, but not too close as regards noise. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a central location. We chose to up-grade our room, so can`t comment on the smaller rooms.
Hotel was lovely with clean modern rooms. We stayed 4 nights at christmas.Would stay again.
Position great for central London.
£20 for one beer and one vodka ouch!
Great location and really pleasant staff and a really well furnished hotel. Thanks!
we really liked the hotel, the staff were friendly our room was attractive and clean we would visit again.
i was not expecting to stay in such a beautiful and clean hotel for the price i paid. the staff were immaculate and proffessional and the greeting warm. the enire hotel is faultless from the reception to the bar and even the cleanliness of the bathroom. breakfast was above and beyond my expectations and this made my trip extra special.i will definately use again. thankyou for a wonderful treat.
Hotel was located near to Regent Street shops and within easy reach of theatre in the West End. Hotel staff always ready to assist with any request instantly. Hotel room was of a high standard and very comfortable. Restaurant and Bar very modern serving quality food and very good service. In all expect higher than average standards for a four star hotel.
Hotel generally very good & in a great location so close to Oxford Street and the main shopping areas. The hotel is very smart and well kept up with nice furnishings and decor. The only thing that let the hotel down a bit was the fact that you had to pay exceedingly high prices for somthing as simple as a alcoholic drink or a cup of coffee (which also wasnt available in the rooms). The service for the breakfasts was a little poor, which I feel was down to the lack of communication between the waiting staff and the person taking the table reservations etc. Overall the hotel was very good, and would happily return.
