Very pleasant staff, the room was dated but clean. The breakfast...Wow, would stay again just for the breakfast. There was everything you could want and more to choose from and the restaurant was lovely too.

Leak in bathroom was reported on three occasions. Despite ordering a newspaper on arrival, none were delivered despite reminders. On two days had to use the goods lift instead of the public lift.

Staff very friendly and helpful - food excellent. Rooms very comfortable. Will certainly stay again

My partner and I have stayed in numerous hotels in the Mayfair area and can say that The Washington Mayfair was suberb for location (piccadily just a short 5 minute walk away) and the room was very modern and clean. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful and we would have no concerns in recommeding this hotel to anyone. We will be booking oursleves in again this year

Had a refurbished room, however, the furniture and soft furnishings did not match and there was no vanity mirror, which resulted in me sitting on a tiled floor between the bedroom to bathroom corridor to do my hair as there was no hairdryer available in front of a mirror. I would have thought as the refurbishment was incomplete, the room rate would have been reduced to take into account this fact.

Room 121 was noisy when the Air Handling Unit on the adjacent roof started up. In particular when the window was open.

There was a mix up over my on-line booking and my husband was told I wasn`t staying there when he called me at the hotel from home! PS TV Remote in Rm 130 doesn`t seem to work

Easy to find and in a very convenient but quiet location (3 mins from Green Park tube). Staff very helpful, hotel beautiful. Only one very minor problem - we needed an extra plate for the toast!

Considering the hotel is supposed to be a four star deluxe, it was in serious need of refurbishment; room 234 where we were certainly was tatty, skirting boards and carpets not particualarly attractive and overall decor was pretty awful. The mattress needs replacing as you roll into the middle everytime you lie down. Good points - staff very courteous, breakfast was excellent and the location second to none. If refurbished to a decent standard this would be a great hotel and well worth the money.

nice hotel. i have stayed in many 4 star hotels, and this one was not one of the best, very nice and comfortable, but when we arrived they said we had been upgraded from a classic to and executive room and this was bigger, well we were glad we weren`t in the classic!! The best thing was its location.... we were able to walk to regents street and picadilly .

Would definitely stay again. Will look at having a slightly larger room next time, as it was necessary to upgrade.

stayed here on the 15/09/07. hotel was slightly more exspensive then other hotels of its rating (mainly due to its location). room was of a good size with plenty of room to move about, bed was big and comfy and the bathroom was very good. in the morning i had the english breakfast which was help yourself (and i did, laughs). staff were helpfull and the hotel was clean throughout. a good stay.

Given an upgrade to a state room which was a nice surprise, problems with the bath not retaining the water so no jacuzzi and bed side lights were not working on one side and missing on the other. Reported the problems at 18.30, returned at 22.30 and nothing fixed so nice try but no banana

Bedroom furnishings not up to 4 star standard and, the carpet especially was quite badly stained. Breakfast adequate, but not outstanding.

Our stay was very pleasant the hotel was clean, breakfast was enjoyable and service was excellent. The hotel is ideally positioned to access all the sights.

Location was good just off Piccadily. Had a few problems though booked a smoking room which I could not get when I arrived despite getting confirmation & breakfast was not up to much - warm milk for cereal & hot food not very hot. Hotel is very, very hot inside had to sleep with windows open in the room. On the upside staff especially at the porters desk could not be more helpfull gave us help in how was the best way to get around London. If I was to visit London again I would consider this hotel again due to the location but would have to consider their rates as think it was too expensive for what you actually get.

However this hic cup would not stop me re booking in the future.

I was a bit concerned prior to my visit after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor for the hotel - as they were mixed.However, I need not of worried. The hotel staff were very helpful and incredibly friendly. The ladies on Reception were very pleasant and definitely made a good impression. The foyer was fine, however, the actual reception lounge could possibly benefit from a refurb sooner rather than later. The room was adequate, and more important was clean. The only thing I would say is that I did ask for a kingsize bed - not two twins, however, housekeeping did then return and made up the bed for a kingsize. There was a problem with the door key - however, this was solved quickly and efficiently by the Reception desk and I was impressed and how helpful they were. The location of the hotel was absolutely perfect and couldnt of asked for better. I would definitely rate this hotel well and return to stay there.

From the moment we arrived we were looked after. The staff were extremely professional and we had no faults to report. The Hotel Direct discount was excellent and we will definitely stay again.

Enjoyable stay, the staff were excellent and attentive, all you could wish. Our room was very quiet at night and comfortable. In all very good value and in a location we wanted.

Yellow water leaking all over floor in room 405. Bedding smelt of smoke - should have been a non smoking room, bed was also very uncomfortable as probably needs replacing. Wife very disappointed - this was meant to be a pleasant stay in London to celebrate anniversary, also had problems when checking in as computer was down, we were then told 20 minutes later that we could not check in until 14.00pm, would have been good to tell us when first arrived.

Nothing basically wrong, food OK accomodation OK but too "cold" and impersonal for me to stay again
